What About Weight Loss

Lexapro (weight gain/weight loss)?

I was afraid of the same thing. My doctor's actual words were, "I don't believe in that stuff" (the weight gain 'rumors'). I started off on 10mgs, felt nauseous for a day or two and then it passed. When I was upped to 20mgs about 6 weeks later, I felt sick again but that also passed. Same thing when I was upped to 30mgs. I also took Ativan and then Klonopin with the Lexapro. I noticed no change in my weight until about 3 weeks ago where I realized I felt thinner. I weighed myself and found that I had dropped about 10 lbs since I began the meds 6 months before. I came to the conclusion that because I'm less depressed and 'crazy' that I leave the house more and get way more exercise. I assume that's the reason I lost weight, not because it's a 'side effect' of the medication. Lexapro NEVER made me sleepy so that would be something that may happen to other people, but certainly not to me. I take Klonopin which is a sedative and I still don't feel sleepy! I was lazy and depressed before the meds and stayed in bed all day crying. Moving around made me lose the weight (I believe)

Does wellbutrin make you lose weight??

Unlike most other anti-depressants, Wellbutrin is strongly associated with appetite reduction/weight loss.

What is "smooth move"? and has anyone tried it for weight loss?

Gabriella, in your other weightloss question you asked about TEA. Smooth move is an herbal tea that, as I told you in the last answer, helps to clean out the intestinal tract.
There's a "cleansing diet" that's called the Master Cleaner, aka the Lemonade diet, which you can research online.
I DON'T recommend it, especially for a long term, however it does make many valid points. One of which is that to lose, you need to "clean out the old junk".
Then Smooth Move herbal tea (that the name of the product) helps to do just that. The "diet" also talks about an internal cleansing with 1 quart water (don't use cold) and 1-2 level teaspoons non iodized sea salt. This runs through you in a couple hours and really helps to clean out the intestinal tract. Because it's non iodized you don't absorb all the extra's that salt has that's not good for you. Do this a few days in a row, yes you'll have some abdominal cramps, but you'll lose initial weight really quickly and have more energy too, because you've gotten the bad junk out.
And, that bloatly tummy won't be as bad...........
Hope this helps.

Does peanut butter help in weight loss or weight gain?

As an avid peanut butter enthusiast, I would say you can add it to your diet if you really enjoy it. It tastes good and has a good amount of protein and fat.In the end, you will burn fat only if you burn more calories than you consume. You should take into consideration that peanut butter is one of the most calorically dense foods you can eat. A tbsp has about a 100 calories. So if you can add it to your diet and still manage to burn more calories than you consume go for it.Also I would invest good quality PB that doesnt have alot of preservatives and added sugar. Personally I would run a couple more km a day just to enjoy because I love the stuff
