Can a girl legally leave her home if her parents want to force her to marry?

If your parents want you to get married then you have to be over 18.You are free to leave but make sure that you have a job that will sustain your expenses or at least a friend who doesn't mind you staying with them.Thank you for reading!

At what age is it legal to leave a child alone at home in the U.S.?

I’ll note that in the US you can’t get tax credits for childcare if your child is over 12. Whether you accept the US government as a qualified judge of the age at which children can generally be left unsupervised while a parent works is another question. In my house, we left our children alone for stretches as short as 5–10 minutes beginning somewhere around 9 in the scenario where parent 1 departs with another child very shortly before parent 2 arrives home. By 6th grade (generally age 11–12 in the US) we considered them capable of staying home after school by themselves; it’s significantly less common to find afterschool care for post-elementary children. In the more general case, I agree with everyone who writes that it varies from child to child. Also, I would say, community to community, as a child left alone with several neighbors to rely on in case of trouble is very different than a child left alone with no community resources. Also, I would say, country to country, because there are legal implications no matter how responsible you personally think the child is.Also, I would say, whether we are talking about home alone for a few hours after school, or home alone overnight or for an unbroken stretch of days.

At what age is it legal to leave your child at home alone in Australia?

There is no legal age for children to be left at home in Australia. However, in some states if children are left home alone for extended periods of time and they are under 12 it is classified as a crime of neglect.Ultimately it is up to the guardian to decide whether to leave their child at home. Depending on the child’s level of responsibility and independence the age that they are able to be left at home will change.Age really is just a number.(for more information see Leaving children unattended and other government websites)

What is the legal age in Florida to leave your parents' home and are there any exceptions to this age?

What are the requirements for emancipation in Florida?Emancipation Fact SheetA minor at least 16 years old can petition the court for legal emancipation. This will require either that the parents or legal guardian file the petition for emancipation, or if filed by the child through a guardian ad litem, then both parents or the legal guardian must also be served with a subpoena to testify to the court as to whether or not the child should be granted emancipation. If one parent petitions for emancipation, the other must still be served and testify. There are other factors that can play into it, such as if you are a minor who is legally married (even if you are subsequently divorced or widowed while still a minor). It should be pointed out that marriage of a minor is not legal in Florida without parental consent, so you have to have consent to get married before trying to leverage this argument in a petition for emancipation.

What can you do at age 19 in Ontario?

19 is the final age threshold in Ontario in terms of what you can do legally. (I believe that you're right about it being 18 in Alberta and Quebec, as well as Manitoba, and possibly others as well.) There are a few other things you won't be able to do for a few years...like afford insurance. (Okay, that's not entirely serious, but many car rental agencies won't rent to folks under a certain age.)

But there's really not all that much more at 19 than at 18. Alcohol and cigarettes...that's it.

At 18, you're an adult for most purposes. That's where the age-based anti-discrimination protection kicks in under the Ontario Human Rights Code. You can already vote, watch whatever movies you want (with the exceptions of ones that are entirely illegal), play the lottery, make your own decisions in most contexts, etc.

When you turn 19, you can legally acquire cigarettes, you can legally acquire and drink alcohol, and you can legally get into places where alcohol is served (like clubs and casinos). Exciting development for a lot of folks, but if you didn't already know that, I suspect you're not the type to really go out and enthusiastically enjoy your new rights...and you're probably better off that way anyways.

Leaving home at age 18? What can they do?

Nothing legally. But here's my experience as a Step Parent. My husband's daughter decided to move out at 18 and she did. Guess what? She could BARELY make it alone with a ROOMMATE PAYING HALF THE RENT. Then she decided to live off guys and ended up pregnant, gave the baby away for adoption. She's now 25 working at a $7.50 an hour job, unhappy and regrets "running away". You can NEVER run away from yourself.

Good luck in your decision. >>>>

What is the legal age to move out without parental consent in Ontario?

I was doing a bit of reading, and some sources stated that the legal age was 16, while other sources contradicted this fact. I need to know the real answer. Proof would be helpful. ;)
Thank you!

Ontario, Canada, legal age of consent?

It's 16 in all of Canada, so you're fine.

Just for the record, Canada also has a 5-year close-in-age exception for people who are 14 or 15, and a 2-year exception at 12 or 13. Rather more reasonable than most US states.

At what age can you move out of your parents house in Ontario without consent?

At the age of 14 or 15 if you run away the police probably won’t forcibly return you to your parent’s home. They will check to see if you are okay and safe but likely will not intervene to return you to your parent’s house. You will still need a guardian because you are not eligible to take care of most of your day to day needs like obtaining your own place, and since you are legally required to be in school and there are legal limits on the number of hours you can work during the week you will likely find it difficult to go to school and feed yourself. Under the age of 16 you may end up in the care of Children’s Aid .In the Workplace: FAQs Justice for Children and Youth

Can an American that's 19 drink legally at a bar in Ontario Canada?

- Drinking age in Ontario: 19 yrs and older
- There's only one store to purchase all liquor and some beer: LCBO - they are everywhere!
- For all Beer there's: The Beer Store - they are everywhere and often near LCBOs.
- No smoking in bars and restaurants.
- If you drink it's best to not drive/take a taxi. Police spot checks are common and 0.05 is a traffic violation now and 0.08 is criminal. Not worth the risks.
- Our gas is more expensive than yours.
- Major cities are very multicultural, rural areas not so much.
- Watch your speed as mentioned earlier (Cops can be ***** so always be polite especially since you're not from this country).
- Take a GPS with you.
- Weather should be occasionally rainy at worst 2 months from now.
- No curfews.
- Bars have final call either at 1AM or 2AM depending on the place.
- Weed is illegal though small amounts aren't criminal. Don't smoke in front of randoms or out in the total open and you'll be okay. Also, police don't care too much about weed when they find it unless you're a total dick or very sketchy looking so a little stealth is good. That said, they aren't everywhere so pick your spots.... if you're into this sort of activity.

Enjoy the trip!
