What Age Is It Appropiate To Wear Makeup

What is an appropriate age to wear makeup??

ok, not 2 sound like im preaching or anything, but just because ur friends are doing it, doesnt mean that its suitable for a girl your age. in my opinion, i think that maybe 16 or 17 years old is appropriate. see, im a tomboy and i just recently started getting into makeup and im 19 years old! but i think that u mom is right for just letting u wear lip gloss and coverup. my mom wouldnt even let my sister wear anything that she thought was too girly(and she's 7 years older than me!) until she hit 18 because she was free 2 do as she pleased at that time. (my moms a tomboy also, but my sister isnt) i have a cousin that is 14 years old and my aunt let her get her eyebrows trimmed, or plucked or whateva u call what u do 2 ur eyebrow 2 make them look like somebody drew them on ur face! LOL, i felt that she was way 2 young for that because it made her look like she was my age! and u dont want that kind of attention at ur age hun, trust me, i know. my sister used 2 sneak and put makeup on both of us and at the age of 14, guys would say that i looked like i was 17 or 18 years old! thats not a good thing because that can set u up for all kinds of trouble. be safe hun!

What age is it appropiate to wear makeup?

Depends on a few things. I'm the eldest of two girls and the only one in my house that wear makeup.
At 15 I wore eyeliner in my water line.
At 16 I added a tinted lip balm.
When I started my second last year of high school I was wearing a full face of makeup.
Before that makeup was only for performances and special dinner. The makeup was eyeshadow and lipgloss.
Mum allowed me to start with eyeliner (her favourite makeup item) at 15 because in some cultures, like the one my mum is a part of, 15 is the age when you become a young lady).
I think starting at 15/16 is a good age and the longer you avoid heavy face products like foundation the better. Nowadays I wear cc cream on a regular basis and foundation for special events.

What is the appropriate age for a kid to wear makeup?

I was about 14 when i started wearing makeup. It all depends on your development. If you are a physically maturing then there shouldn't be a problem with a small amount but if you could be taken for a 9 year old then its just going to look silly.

Also remember that makeup can make you look a lot older than you are and your mother may be worried that you will get the wrong sort of attention from men (not boys your own age) because if they think your 17 or 18 they may try to do something inappropriate.

Understand that she is probably trying to look out for you own saftey in this matter so maybe you need to have a talk and set some limit on what you can and can't wear - i.e. a little gloss and pale eye shadow but now heavy eyeliner or bright red lippie.

What do you think is an "appropriate" age to wear makeup?

You don't have got to put on make up, its now not a legislation. I in no way wore any make up - now not even lip gloss lol however i did put on chap stick after I needed to - unless about 6months after my seventeenth Birthday i went to an 18th Birthday and wore make-up for the primary time - only light nothing thick and heavy. I suppose its unnecassary for some humans because some individuals are simply naturally good watching - satisfactory skin and many others. But some men and women who make have a couple of blemishes ought to put on it. I don't have acne or some thing ive bought a good skin tone, excellent dermis so i relatively don't see why i ought to put on it. Like i put on it if im going out to a party or something however other than that i aviod it. Some folks want some severe make-up though others just suppose you must wear it due to the fact that its what all people does, some wear it given that they've bad skin, some put on it because it does truely make them look better - like offers them somewhat color of their face, some put on waaaaay an excessive amount of and it appears obviously disgusting. I thnk if you're going to wear it - consult a official makeup individual that may virtually give you the correct colours and correct products on your skin. Im no longer towards it but i dont consider it wishes to be worn daily of your lifestyles. Your epidermis desires to breathe

What age is appropriate to start wearing makeup?

So, I'm turning 16 in two weeks and I want to start wearing makeup. I don't want to wear it to impress anyone or anything like that, but because I think it looks pretty and I'm sure it'll boost my self-confidence. My mom said that when I turn 16 I will be able to use eyeliner, but I don't know if she will also let me use other kinds of makeup like eyeshadow and mascara. Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is since I see 12 year-olds wearing makeup, so as long as my mom agrees with what I'm wearing, I don't know why she wouldn't let me. So, what age do you think it's appropriate for a girl to start using makeup and how should I ask my mom if I can use it? I don't want to ask her in the wrong way so that she won't understand what I'm saying, so how should I bring the topic up. Please remember that my mom is kind of protective so how should I deal with that. Thank you for your time.

P.S. Oh! And my aunt is a makeup artists and she thinks it's fine for girls my age to start wearing makeup, and my other cousins started using makeup when they were around my age, too, so do you think I should bring that up?

P.P.S. I'm putting this under parenting so that I can get a few opinions from parents.

well by young teen im assuming you're not over 16. To a wedding, since its not your family wedding(I assume) a nice amount of makeup would be some light natural toned shimmery eyeshadow (very low shimmer though). Something along the lines of a gold shade. If you have dark skin, a sweep of gold on the eyelid will look fabulous. If you have medium toned or olive skin, you can go either way--white gold(almost silvery) or a bronzey gold, or a brown coppery gold, such as "sin" from the urban decay naked palette. In fact, any light shimmery shade from that palette would work well. If you have light skin, i suggest a light shimmery tone such as "sin" or "virgin" from urban decays naked palette. Along with this, you can add some natural mascara on your top lashes, and very little to your bottom lashes. If you are blonde i suggest using brown mascara, as black can look too bold, especially in your young age. A very natural pinky lip shade will look fine as well, as long as its very close to your lip color. For skin, you are so young, if you apply anything it will look very silly and cakey. If you feel too pale or one toned, you can add a tiny hint of cream blush, such as loreal cream blush.  If you suffer from acne, blush or skin makeup will make it worse. You can use some foundation on the acne spot itself, but not all over the area, because that will just make it look much worse. A nice natural look is shown here: She has a slight shimmer on her eyes, and natural mascara: Or here: again, very light coppery bronzey tone: And lastly, here: this is a very nice pinky-brown gold shade, some light mascara and natural pink lips. Good luck!

I’m assuming “child” refers to “age 12 or under” here. There are different ages at which people say childhood ends and adolescence begins, and it often is different for different people. The issues I have are twofold:Childhood is a special time and children should be allowed to make the most of it. It only happens once, and once you grow up there’s no going back.Pedophiles and similar deviants who would get “turned on” by seeing someone that young dolled up in full makeup. If children (particularly girls) want to play dress-up, as long as they don’t leave the house like that I don’t think there’s much of an issue. Especially as the teen/adolescence years approach, however, skin care needs to be part of the equation for both genders, even for adults-in-training who never plan to wear makeup regularly. Teens who want to be actors, particularly boys, should be reminded that everyone wears makeup for the stage, TV, and film, and that there’s nothing feminine about it.
