What Are 3 Moral Reasons For Why The Nfl Has Done Its Job In Creating A Safe Environment For Its

Three reasons to stay in Iraq....?

1) We have a responsibility to finish what we started in that country, if we leave now, we invite chaos and anarchy in, which will kill thousands if not millions as ethnic and religious violence swept the country, and at the end of it, Iraq would probably end up a theocratic state.

2) The war on terror is a war on ideology, you can't win a war on ideology with bullets unless you plan on killing every single person who holds that idea dear. Instead, you fight an idea with a better idea. Turning Iraq into a prosperous, stable, democratic government would set a shining example in the middle east. Democracies don't tend to make war on one another, and prosperous people don't tend to blow themselves up. So by giving those people freedom and a better standard of living, we take away most of the terrorists recruiting ability. After all, does blowing yourself up for 2000 dollars (that goes to your family) sound like a good idea when you could instead take them all out to eat at red lobster? Of course not!

3) Finally, if we pull out now, we will be showing america's enemies that we're weak. That if they put enough pressure on us we will fold. That all they have to do is wait us out and they will win. We cannot afford to be projecting that message. We need to show the world don't mess with us, we will stick with this. It may not always be pretty, and it may not be cheap, but we are in this to win. The war on terror will be a long one, the forces of islamofascism know that and are planning for it. Are we ready for the same commitment? Or are we going to retreat into our little shell, waiting for backpack nukes and other WMD to destroy our world? Alarmist? Maybe, but if we stay ready and prepared but youre right, what happens? A few countries get freedom and we stay safe. If we do nothing but I'm right? A lot of our people die. Why not prepare for the worst?

Just some thoughts, not sure if you'll agree but oh well, you asked.

Why is everyone so excited about Quinn beating up on the Lions 3rd & 4th stringers?

I think the really question is why do you idiot haters keep posting stupid a** comments like this, when you've seen nothing of him but one preseason game.

People are excited because he's the Brown's #1 pick from a big time school and he's on the path to being a great quarterback. He was expected to win the Hiesman and be the no.1 pick since summer 2005, so the attention around him started a long time ago. Yeah, his first game was against crappy players, but that's where you start, playing crappy players.

How about you all agree to shut your moronic mouths and keep away from the keyboard until he actually plays in a regular season game. Then if he throws 3 picks and gets sacked 8 times you can keep the criticisms coming. Until then all you're proving is that you don't know what you're talking about and you're hating for the sake of it, not because of anything Quinn has done.

What are the bad things that Ronald Reagan did during his presidency?

deregulation of the banking industry and supply side economics led to our current debacle.

iran contra comes to mind as well.

cut and ran from lebanon after our marine corps barracks in beirut was bombed.

refused to allow federal federal funding for aids research until a courageous young man named ryan white publicly shamed him into reversing his position that aids was god's punishment for homosexuality and therefor trying to treat it was against god's will.

he gutted federal funding programs for poor college students (i was one of them).

fired the air traffic controllers and deregulated the airline industry, resulting in a massive increase in air traffic fatalities.

he laid a wreath at the tomb of an unknown german SS soldier from WW2, but declined to visit a nearby concentration camp.

he proclaimed that trees CAUSED air pollution and that ketchup was a vegetable.

eliminated federal funding for planned parenthood. about the same time, infant mortality rates in america began to skyrocket... i believe this was due to the fact that planned parenthood provided the only source of pre-natal medical care in poor neighborhoods (they aren't JUST an abortion provider). in 1980, the USA had the second lowest infant mortality rate in the world. today, we're ranked 39th.

reduced federal funding for inexpensive social programs like head start by 90%. the kids who grew up without these during the 80's went on to become the crack kingpins of the 90's.

encouraged americans to hate poor people with his speeches about "fur coat-wearing welfare queens picking up their food stamps in limousines". this claim was later debunked as an out-and-out lie.

nearly got us all killed when he made his famous "open mic" gaffe, saying "i've just signed a bill outlawing russia. we begin bombing in 5 minutes." russia was listening and immediately jumped to their version of def-con 2. we haven't been that close to nuclear annihilation since the cuban missile crisis.

began the tradition of doubling the national debt during republican administrations. national debt when he took office stood at $900 billion. when he left, it was $2.1 Trillion.

i could continue this all day, but this should be enough to send you scurrying for sources to support or refute my points.

Shouldn't the NFL do more for retired players?

The answer is yes. But the NFL is only part of the issue. I think a very high percentage of players enter the NFL with lifetime damage already done. The average NFL career is only 3 years. By the time a player gets to the NFL he has most likely played at least 4 years of college ball and most likely 4-7years of organized football at the high school and junior high level.

The physical training to get to that level is extremely intense. Years of weight training, explosive running and getting the snot mashed out of you also takes a huge toll. I can feel it everyday when I get out of bed or try to engage in physical activity.

The NFL retirement is pretty basic and is no where near what you would expect from a such high paying jobs. A player has to play at least three season to be vested with a normal retirement age of 55 to start drawing the Pension. There is also a disability benefit.

Lets compare pensions. OJ Simpson draws a $28,000 per year pension. A typical firefighter or police officer can draw a pension equal to about 50% of their ending salary with twenty years of service. Its not unusual for retired firefighters and police officers to draw retirements of $50,000 to $100,000 per year starting in their early 40's.

Most players never receive any kind of post career counseling or follow-up from the NFL. There has been increased interest in this issue recently (see link)

Maybe its time the NFL and the players looked at deferring some of those huge contracts and creating some type of defined benefit plan for the players and coaches.

Why dont more teams win back to back superbowls?

First off, to all those who say it is a dumb question, lighten up. The only dumb question is one that is not asked. Everyone starts with zero knowledge and builds through learning and asking is part of that.

Now to answer your question, the NFL has done a good job of creating parity in the league and though there are a few dominant teams, there are always new teams near the top from year to year. Free agency and the physical nature of football make it very difficult to remain on top.

A simple answer is that it helps you in everyday conversations. People always want to talk about the most recent developments in politics, sports, scandals, etc. You can come across as a more informed individual simply by perusing a few news sources once a day.A more complicated answer is that it shapes the way you see things that are constantly changing around you. It is important to stay up-to-date on this world, after all, you are living in it, so that you might understand its current state of affairs, the direction its heading, and your role in the unfolding story. Just as it is important to have at least basic knowledge of history to understand how things came to be. Learning about the past and present can give you an indication of the future. It can guide you on your career path, political beliefs, and discovery of new subjects.Perhaps, you'll see a recent development of social injustice, inciting strong emotions, convincing you to take action. Perhaps, you'll see a new development in technology and think, "Hey, that could be useful for not only what this article suggests, but also for X" and lead you to pursue it. Perhaps, you'll learn of a nascent technology that has the potential to positively or aversely affect an industry you are keen to work in, granting foresight on how to position yourself accordingly.Obvious side note: different sources of news have different biases and political leanings. Understand this and source from several outlets. Try to find ones that provide material in a manner Joseph Pulitzer aimed to: "Put it before them briefly so they will read it, clearly so they will appreciate it, picturesquely so they will remember it and, above all, accurately so they will be guided by its light."

There is 1 reason WHY-NOT and 3 reasons WHY to talk to your manager.WHY-NOT? You do not have a good working relationship with your manager. Best to let him/her know you are resigning and effective date.WHY to talk to your manager before resigning. You have a good working relationship with your manager. S/he has treated you fairly or better and values your contribution. It’s good to request a 1–1 and explain why you are leaving (compensation/promotion/different job content). If your manager/company is able to provide an alternative for you to stay, then best to work it out without resigning.Your manager may need for you to complete a project/task that you are working on and may ask you to support him/her through a transition period. If you can do it, you should (stay and complete the requested deliverable) after having informed the new employer and the reason why. It will give you credibility with your new manager. You may need a reference in the future from your current manager. Best to leave on amicable circumstances.Since you have not been a manager, this might appear to be intellectual/theoretical. Once you have been a manager and an employee quits on you abruptly, you will appreciate this more.
