What Are My Chances Of Getting Into A Top Public Or Private College So Far

What are my chances of getting into college?

I am a 17 year old male junior and i would appreciate it if anyone could help me determine what my chances of getting into a college are as neither my school or parents have been very helpful.
My unweighted gpa is a 2.71 on a 4 point scale, I WAS TOLD THIS IS A HUGE DETRIMENT. I predict that this will not improve and might actually fall. my weighted gpa is a 3.64 on a 5 point scale. I am an intelligent person but I have some problems: I am a very nervous person and it is very hard for me to get through most of the regular test I have at school without feeling sick and losing my ability to think clearly; I usually score in the d to b range. My problems have not been diagnosed by a psychiatrist or any specialized doctor (that is not financially possible for me), though my general doctor did offer me the same medication that a specialist would provide. In addition, my school did agree to give me extra time on some tests.
other considerations:
I scored 29 on the ACT though I predict I will score as high as 32 in the upcoming tests.
I go to a public school within the 10 best in the state
I am involved in many extracurriculars and am the captain of the chess team
I am heavily involved in community service with my boy scout troop
I am a first generation immigrant, though I have a green card
My family's income is below average
I take various honors classes and have taken APUSH and APEURO so far

I would like to attend a public school (ex. u. of Missouri, Wisconsin, Michigan, etc)

What are my chances of getting into a nice, private college?

Well, most colleges require an interview. So, if you get past the screening proccess you should automatically get one. It does depend though what you put on your application; most colleges look for people who challenge themselves, (honors classes, sports; time management). It is not always about what your GPA is, alot of the time they will look at extra-curricular activities.
It is also key to list some public things you have done; community work/donation of time. But other then that you should be pretty good, just make sure that you keep a steady grade or higher so that you have a better chance of getting accepted.

Would I stand a chance getting into a private school?

I'm talking about Harvard Westlake, Archer, Crossroads, etc... right now I go to Paul Revere (public) in California, and it's pretty bad.
Ever since the end of 3rd grade, I've gotten 4's (the equivalent of A's) in pretty much everything. Behavior and academics. In 6th grade, I go all A's and E's (E's are for behavior) and I'm getting the same in seventh grade. My test scores are extremely high, and I'm one of the 40 out of 700 placed in "high honors". I've pretty much done well since kindergarten.
I also do cross country in the fall, track in the spring, and I've started dancing.
The thing is, I can't afford a private school; could I go with financial aid?
Thanks!

Will transferring to a public school hurt my chances of getting into MIT, or any other prestigious college?

Transferring into MIT, Stanford, Harvard, or similar schools as an undergraduate student is very difficult, and very unlikely to be possible for most strong students. However, many students complete their bachelor’s degree at a public university, and then go on to MIT, Stanford, Harvard, or a similar university for graduate school. If you can transfer to a very good public university, then you probably should do so. You can get a very good education at many public universities whether in the US or elsewhere.

Do I pose a legitimate chance of getting into MIT or Princeton?

Thanks for your information. I greatly appreciate your time. Just a few more details ;).

I go to a small private school that does not offer these "AP" classes, to counter balance that fact I have started "outsourcing" my classes to the community college by taking "duel credit" classes. (count for highschool credit and college.) I don't expect to transfer these hours to my university, however to an Ivy does "college hours" look as good on a resume as "AP" classes? Also a few more details about myself are listed below:

-I was the flight commander in Civil Air Patrol and improved my leadership skills in working with my peers in that activity.
-Held summer jobs at different places.
-I hope to get the National Merit Scholarship award if that matters to an Ivy.
-There are a ton of other "little" things I have done that I just do not have the space to write about.

Thanks again for your comments, I think I need to focus more on community service during these next two years!

Will 1 B+ ruin my chances of being accepted into a good college?

I am currently a Freshman in high school and I have all A's and 1 B+ in Spanish... I am trying to to become Valedictorian for class of 2016. Will these first semester grades mess up my chances getting a scholarship into UCLA? I would like to got to Medical School and become an orthopedic surgeon, yes I know it will be hard work and I am all for hard work. What do you recommend me doing to help me prepare for medical school or getting a better chance in getting a full ride scholarship in UCLA or any college that has a med school. I know I have bad "Vocabulary" "English" and I am planning on working harder to improve it, so other than that what should I do better and what classes should I take in high school?

Biology- A-
