Do you have any good story ideas?

Yes, I do. Imagine Infinity War, but Quora style. The trolls vs. the answerers.Damien Christensen (Quora User) stars as Thanos on the trolls side. He can deflect all meaningful questions with a crack joke.Sean Kernan (Quora user) Idk who he would be, but he would head the answerers along with Becky Butz (Quora user) , Robert Puckett (Quora user) , and Matthew Bates (Quora User).I would just love to see them shouting answers at trolls and them not feeling too good with some music in the background. But ain’t nobody gon defeat Damien Christensen (Quora User).

Okay, maybe this girl wants to win the highest thing in volleyball (sorry i'm not that keen on volleyball, so i dont' really know what the "highest thing" is) but her parents are separating and she really doesn't want them to. It's really hard for her to focus on volleyball when her life is changing rapidly. But soon she finds a cure at a creek surrounded by willows. She starts to connect with nature and tries to get away to that creek all the time. Her parents are starting to worry about her, and she is really worrying about them divorcing. It's mostly about her finding herself in nature.

P.S. if you really don't like nature or something, maybe she could find herself in reading or drawing or something like that... nature just came to be the fastest.

What are some good story ideas?

Think up something yourself.
Stop trying to get random people on the internet to tell you what to do.

A good story idea just comes to you all of a sudden, it's like BAM, then all of a sudden, over time, the pieces fall into place.

Go think of something yourself, and DO NOT plagiarize.

What are some good story ideas?

Every story is based off an original. For an example, most romance stories are based off of Romeo and Juliet with the "forbidden love" thing. For horror you can do some Stephen King or Edgar Allen Poe ideas. So, basically, you just take an original story idea and twist it around to customize it and make it your own! Just remember not to make it too much like the original.

Sometimes, ideas just come to you. They sometimes come in dream form or other times you just get a flash of a storyline.

What I do is I have a journal and everytime I have an idea, whether it's a character, setting, conflict, plot, ect. I just write it down. Then, I look back in a couple days/weeks/months and see what I have and almost everytime, it turns out to be a good story. So all I really need to do is write it out.

I hoped this helped and best of luck to you with your story!

What are some good ideas for writing stories?

I would avoid “tired” plots. Try to come up with fresh, new trendy unused issues and have characters that are trendy. If you choose a story that is a of an historical nature, pick an era, or an event within an era, that is yet unused or has been rarely used.I have an idea for you now, it is one I thought I might write about, but I will let you do the honors. Let me set it up and you can write the story. My husband and I had an antique desk that once belonged to his mother. The desk was found on an old Chinese junk during WWII. My father-in-law was in the Army during that time. Shortly after the war, he discovered the desk and bought it for a very inexpensive price and had it shipped to her.Fast forward to 1995, we had the desk restored and advertized it in a San Francisco paper hoping for a dealer to either buy it or find a buyer. We lived in Las Vegas, NV at the time. A lady of about 75 years of age, called us about the desk and she just happened to live in Las Vegas not far from us.She came, saw it and loved the desk. We told her the history and then she asked my husband to repeat his name, following with another question which was, what was his mother’s name. When he told her, she exclaimed that she had known his mother. It seems that they were both at Tripler Hospital and were sitting on the hill at the time the hospital was suddenly riddled with bullets, it was December 7th, 1941! They ran for cover together and became fast friends. She told us how Mom was engaged to marry Colonel Gray any day. As it turned out, the war caused their marriaage to take place on a furough, and my husband was born while his father was overseas and the two did not meet for three years. We never knew that his mother ever had anything to do with that attack, but the lady’s name did sound familiar to my husband as one of Mom’s old friends from “way back”.If you like that idea, go ahead, write a story around it. I think it’s great.

What are some good romance story ideas?

Try drawing inspiration from other romance novels or films you like. For example, Romeo & Juliette, Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Notebook or even modern novels like Twilight and The Time Traveler’s Wife (which I highly recommend). You could even make the story a parody of your own romantic relationships. Think about anything romantic that has inspired you.

What I like in a romantic novel is the “opposites attract” aspect of it like in Twilight. I like the idea of the two characters being very different from each other but sharing a deep connection somehow. I mean like the girl could be gentle, sensitive, melancholy and deep and then the boy could be the total opposite: fiery, sexy and passionate but troubled.
Or the boy could be strong, logical, and down-to-earth and then the girl is very fickle, wanderlust and free-spirited. But then maybe they find common ground over their love of music…. I don’t know…

I also like the sci-fi romance like in The Time Travellers Wife or The Invisible Man. Maybe it could have some sort of paranormal quality. Like I had this idea that when a girl’s boyfriend dies she still hears his voice in her head and sees him in her dreams, acting as her conscience and trying to help her move on. But yeah, it’s up to you :]

What are some good story ideas on the topic of Time?

You know, I was originally going to lead with what James Stewart did.  Hats off to him, because it's excellent advice.Trust me: I've written stuff on commission before, it turns into an absolute SLOG faster than you'd believe.  You're going to get better results if you feel a full sense of ownership for the ideas you base your story around. So, having given some thought as to how to provide instruction on inspiration (which is fickle to say the least) I came up with one technique that's worked for me in the past when I was struggling to come up with ideas.Find something that annoys the absolute hell out of you....Okay, at this point you're probably wondering if the A2A was actually worth it, but there is a method to it.I love reading science fiction.  And yet, at the same time, it can get me worked into a frothing frenzy faster than almost anything else out there.  Because, having read so much science fiction, I started to notice there are certain things that, to me, always felt like they were being done WRONG.Now, I don't mean wrong in a technical sense.  I mean wrong in the "why are they doing X when Y would obviously be SO much more interesting?"  The fact is that they're doing X because it's their Y.  So eventually I decided to hell with it, I'm going to try to write the story where they DO do Y!The results are mixed, sure.  Sometimes I discover that Y seemed like a brilliant idea in my head and turned into an absolutely unmanageable pile of dreck once it was on the page.  But that's the process, and as you get steadily better with practice you'll find that sometimes you can even salvage the dreck. So find the story that seemed so promising before it turned into a complete disaster that made you ashamed to have ever devoted time to it.  And start thinking about how you would do it better.
