What is Kraken rum made from?

Kraken Rum was introduced in 2010.The base rum used in the spirit is from Trinidad and Tobago, distilled from naturally sweet molasses made from locally-grown sugar cane. The rum is aged 1–2 years and then blended with a mix of 11 spices, including cinnamon, ginger and clove. The liquid is black, revealing hints of brown when held up to the light. The bottle is styled after a Victorian rum bottle, with two hoop handles based on the tradition of hanging a bottle to prevent breakages. The bottle also has a black and white label featuring a drawing of a Kraken sea creature.Rum, in general, is made from molasses, or directly from crushed cane sugar. Much of my info for this was taken from Wikipedia, and from knowledge obtained from my own distillery.

What are some facts about India people definitely did not know?

The Legend of Badlu Ram !The regimental song of Assam regiment is : ““Badluram ka badan Zamin ke neeche hai….aur humko uska ration milta hai…” (Badluram’s body is buried but we draw his ration). The story behind this song is based on a true event. During world war II Indian soldiers fought on the behalf of the British empire. Every soldier stationed in the war zone was entitled to provisions like ration. It was duty of the quarter master to report deaths to the authority. During the Japanese raids Badluram, a rifleman was martyred. The quarter master didn't report the death deliberately. As a result Assam regiment continued to recieve Badluram’s share. This surplus ration helped Assam regiment to survive the Japanese seize which cut off their logistical supplies. [1] [2]2. The Congress grassThis is Parthenium Hysterophorus . It is one of the most prevalent weeds and is native to american tropics. It is a dangerous weed , it infests farm and pastoral lands leading to disastrous loss in yield. Apart from sucking excessive nutrients for its growth, it produces some chemicals which suppress crop and pasture plants. Apart from these this weed is a common source of pollen allergies in humans. It is more commonly known as “ Gajar Ghans” (carrot grass) or “ Congress weed” in India. It so happened that during 1950s India was going through one of the worst famines. The then Congress government decided to import wheat from the USA under PL 480programme ( Public Law 480 or food for peace programme). The wheat which arrived came contaminated with the seeds of this weed. The shipments were not put through proper quality checks. Thus, this weed infiltrated into Indian farmlands. It later resulted into an epidemic. Thus came the name “Congress grass” .[3] [4] [5]

What do Seventh-Day Adventists eat?

My parents were strict lacto-ovo vegetarians and I grew up the same until…My father was telling me about the family holiday in Hawai’i with Mom, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. I was 30 years old at the time and a full-time social worker. I couldn’t take time off work to go with them.Dad went on and on about the fabulous fish he ate in Maui. Now, since we were kids, Dad threatened my younger brother and I with bodily harm if we ever strayed from vegetarianism.I thought he was possessed by the devil. Then, I felt an immense sense of freedom. If Dad could eat fish without turning into a pillar of salt, then me too, dammit! No more going out to popular restaurants and obliged to eating only salads and grilled cheese sandwiches while everyone else had fun.My husband, a meat-eater, took me out for my first non-vegetarian dish. It was like I was looking at a restaurant menu for the very first time. There was a whole world of new food to eat!I started with the lobster.I know, I know, lobster is seafood and strictly verboten. But it was sooooo delicious! For the next couple of decades, I was pescetarianism, until…I adopted a kitten with seafood/fish allergies two years ago.Any drop of fish oil or tiny scrap of tuna gives her painful open sores around her mouth and along her digestive tract. To avoid contaminating my precious fur baby,I’m vegetarian at home.I eat vegetarian versions of Indian, Latin, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean cuisines. I love the combination of grains, pulses, greens, herbs, and spices. My grandfather grew traditional Southern produce so I cook US Southern plant-based dishes sans meat and lard.Oh yeah, I was in Honolulu last month and ate a poke bowl every day for two weeks.Dad was right, fish in Hawai’i is fabulous!
