What Are Some Jobs That Deploy The Least In The Air Force Enlisted - Only Answer If You Live In

What are some jobs that deploy the least in the Air Force? (Enlisted)- only answer if you live in USA?

ALL USAF AFSC's are subject to deployment. The only jobs that aren't that I can think of are Military Training Instructors (Drill Sgt's) and Recruiters. But those are special controllled tours that 1st term people aren't eligible for.

WHY join the TEAM if YOU don't want to be a TEAM PLAYER?

What air force job is less likely to deploy often?

My husband is looking into the air force. We both know that any military job is demanding and will take a lot of time away from family. And we also know that he will more than likely be deployed no matter the job. My question is, which job deploys less often? He is willing and wants to serve our country! BUT would like to be home as much as possible.

How likely am I to get deployed in the Air Force Reserve?

It really depends on your AFSC, as was suggested already by David Blakley. If you do anything in aircraft maintenance (2A5 through 2A7, typically), you should bet on going. The deployment OpsTempo (how often and for how long, essentially) can vary, based on which airframe is being supported. But keep in mind that everybody also supports aircraft operations in some way or another. If you aren't a pilot or other flight crew member operating the airplanes or a maintainer of some sort keeping the airplanes flyable, you're a "nonner". But even nonners support flying activities to some extent. Security Forces personnel help guard installations and/or restricted areas within the base (e.g., aircraft parking areas). Technology/network personnel are still needed to support the computers and networks that flyers and maintainers use. Admin specialists are still needed. Supply personnel are also still needed. Sure, about 90% of the people who go on a typical deployment are either maintainers or operators, but it's still common for the remaining 10% to be nonners.Active Duty Air Force is also relying increasingly more on AFRC personnel to help them with deployments too. Therefore, you should expect to deploy at least occasionally - just not necessarily as often or for as long as active duty personnel tend to do. I personally always volunteered to go on any deployment opportunity that came up. The experiences you can have while on deployments are amazing. We don't all deploy directly into hostile environments either. However, we always need to be vigilant for signs of terrorist activities or anything else that could be a threat to national security (e.g., spying). We become targets by just wearing the uniform - even if we're only at our home station. So, if safety is any concern...you are no safer at home than you are at a deployed location. The difference is when in other countries, you often get to experience what it's like to eat the local cuisine or see interesting, historical places in that country...or just enjoy the social aspects of being deployed. Deployments are only as enjoyable or miserable as you're willing to treat them as.

What enlisted jobs in the airforce work the least amount of hours?

Wow! Unbelievable. Don't even bother if you don't want to do the work.

ETA: Yeah... 8 hours a day, M-F, and those kinds of job rarely deploy.... so yeah.... freeloading!

Try the schedule that hubby and his guys have been pulling for the past 2 months.... 6 days a week, 12-14 hours a day, and then add in 4 month deployments. Oh, and most of them are taking college classes every term. You would never cut it!

Honey... you don't even know what the love and support of a good spouse will do for a man working such lousy hours.
Not security forces.... aircraft maintainer. Prior to that.. restaurant manager. And when you see him, don't forget to call him Chief!

And seriously... you should know the answer to this.... anything in the admin section! Those are the folks that routinely work M-F, 8-4:30. Some careers at the hospital, but that depends upon the size of the clinic/hospital. Bases with just a clinic... much better hours. Heck, our folk don't even work weekends... there is no ER on base. Full blown hospital... lousy hours are a potential hazard.

Whats some good jobs that hardly or dont deploy for the airforce?

If you don't want to deploy don't join. The AF you don't pick your job either.

Does the Air Force often deploy its enlistees into combat situations?

This is just a curiosity that was sparked by all of the memorial day things that I've been seeing, combined with the personal experience I've had with knowing a few people who have enlisted in the Air Force.

It seems that those that enlist in the Army are deployed into Iraq or Afghanistan relatively quickly, while the Air Force instead deploys to bases around the US. Granted, the jobs that are explicitly combat related, such as Pilot or whatever, will naturally be in combat situations.

For someone that enlists, though, do they just simply stay stateside more often than not?

Do Air Force officers deploy?

Only if by "deploy" you mean "deploy".

Then yes.

Who do you think flies their planes? The enlisted?

EDIT:

Well, let's see. When the Air Force deploys it's units to war, only the enlisted are sent. So you have nothing but enlisted people in-theater. Does that sound right to you? I mean, I know they're capable and all that...but do you really think they won't have officers out there to "lead" the enlisted and sign orders or make decisions?

When I was in, generally deployments were 6 months. Of course, there are those in certain jobs or areas that can be there longer, but the Air Force generally did not deploy longer than 6 months.

Which MOS are least likely to be deployed?

Hey I'm enlisting in the army but I'm still undecided which MOS to choose. I scored a 89 on the ASVAB so I can do almost any job I want. My wife and I are concerned about deployment seeing as very rarely can your family move with you overseas (depending on the place of deployment). I know anyone in the military has the risk of being deployed, but I'm curious as to which jobs are less likely to be? I'm open to any suggestions, but the three jobs I'm looking at are Military Police, Light Wheel Vehicle Repairer (mechanic), and UAV Operator.

What are some non-deployable MOS' in the NAVY and AIRFORCE?-I live in Downtown San Diego, CA?

I have not figured out if I want to do Navy or Airforce...

What are the positions in the Navy and Airforce where you don't deploy during your first eight year enlistment or you have a less likely chance to deploy?

Also, I am the custodial parent and I have family that can watch my kid but do I get BAH even if I come in as an E-2 oe E3?

I don't need a lecture just my question answered. If you can't don't respond.
