What do you expect to find at a beach resort?

The beach resorts of Hawaii get more awards in Conde Nast Traveler's Gold List of Best Hotels in the World than all the hotels in South America and all the resort hotels in Europe. The first thing that a Hawaiian beach resort has that Europe does not is enormous land area and direct beach frontage. There is a trend in the US to include entire waterparks at beach resorts.US beach resorts do not just advertise as destination resorts, they are. There should be a pleasant atmosphere about the place with friendly staff. You have this in Hawaii and not always in Spain. There is a trend toward all-inclusive packages.Certainly guest should not feel that they are being nickel and dimed (Spain)You should find the same staff and many of the same guests as your last visit. All the construction and remodeling should have been completed in the off-season.

What are some of the best non-beach nudist resorts in the USA?

I’ve gone to half a dozen nudist resorts, clubs and camps. They are all different. There are several AANR clubs in Michigan. American Association for Nude Recreation. Some clubs have ponds including limited boating. Most have swimming pools. Turtle Lake is well known for it’s musical festival. Some clubs are relatively fancy resorts and some are heavy on camping. Some have a very busy event calendar, some don’t. Styles vary from club to club, state to state. I have found all my visits to be friendly. A club in Indiana run by sisters (at least last time I visited there) has theme rooms like Betty Boop, Elvis Presley and others. Choosing a club can come down to facilities, activities, where friends want to go with you or whatever. Have fun and good ;u k.

Are there any nice US beaches with a noticeable amount of people of color?

Come to Venice Beach, CA. As far as I can see, we are a multicultural and multiracial quilt comprising the human fabric of one of the world's most diverse cities containing the most beautiful beaches. It seems to me there is no single race disproportionately represented on the beach. We are an international and constantly moving kaleidoscope of color, languages, religions, and ethnicities. The beach culture there is beyond belief -- very friendly and very welcoming to all. Be prepared to see bizarre and non-bizarre people singing, dancing, drumming, and playing in the sun, sand and surf. You can rent all kinds of beach vehicles including bicycles, roller skates, pedal carts, and something called a Segway: Venice Beach is located in the middle of Santa Monica Bay, in So California. It is my idea of heaven on earth... and the food trucks are extraordinary (check out the ones on Rose Ave. near The Rose Cafe). Many of us pick up our food from the food trucks, and then have a picnic on the beach. Unlike many state beaches, this is a very cool and clean beach; in Venice, there are ample numbers of trash cans and public facilities available, including showers. Locals take pride of place very seriously, and keep it user friendly and even the bathrooms are usually very clean. I wouldn't be surprised if you love it as much as I do.Also check out Santa Monica Pier if you have little ones who will enjoy a carousel, ferris wheel, roller coaster; also, get a baby sitter (if you have children) because there is a weekly concert on the Pier, Thursday nights during every summer, beginning around Memorial Day and ending around Labor Day...The beach cools off at night in semitropical LA, so bring jackets and sweatshirts if you plan to be out at night.Have fun! What nice vaction spots (beach, sandals resort) do you NOT need a passport for??

From the US you need a passport for all of those countries. I don't stay in AI's but I have heard good things about the sandals in Jamaica and st. Lucia. I have been to St. Lucia a few times and it is a beautiful country. Very lush and tropical and not over developed. Jamaica is nice too but very developed and a little rough around the edges. I haven't been 2 the other 2 but I have heard from friends that the Bahamas is somewhat expensive. Some other options you may want to consider are Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, none require a passport. Puerto Rico is gorgeous and very inexpensive. St. Thomas is also nice.

What nice vaction spots (beach, sandals resort) do you NOT need a passport for??

All of your choices require a passport. So does Mexico.

You would not need a passport for any US territory, such as Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Or, of course, you could go to Hawaii (my personal favorite!).

But if you do decide on the Caribbean (outside of US territories), go ahead and get a passport. It only takes a month to 6 weeks generally (the long backup in the passport office is over; they are back on a normal schedule).

A new passport costs about $100, but it is good for 10 years - and you'll need it to go ANYWHERE outside of the US, including a cruise. (Even Canada requires one for air travel, and it will soon be required for car travel, too). If you are considering the Caribbean now, it's pretty likely you will want to go to one of these destinations sometime in the next 10 years - go ahead and get the passport, then you'll have the freedom to go almost anywhere.

What are some nice beaches with no seaweed or rocks to go visit on a vacation?

Why not try Beaches Negril or Beaches Ocho Rios (both in Jamaica).  Their prices are lower in comparison to Beaches Turks and Caicos and you would get a return guest discount for being past guests which would help with the cost.Negril has a long stretch of beach (on the famous 7 mile beach) with beautiful calm crystal clear water.  Not the same as Turks (nothing can beat that water) but it's still beautiful water.  The one in Ocho Rios is a smaller beach but the water is still the Caribbean blue and the sand is soft.I'm looking forward to when Beaches expands to Antigua and Barbados. They need more resorts to choose from! :)Another option is Aruba.  The water there reminded me of Turks and Caicos when we went.  We stayed at the Tamarijn which was not at all as expensive as Turks.  It's all-inclusive but it won't have al the same inclusions (transfers and tips not included, no water sports, no water park, etc).  Your best bet may be to speak to a travel professional who can put together some packages for the dates you want, within your price range.  They'll know the best deals going on for when you're looking to travel and will also be able to pull up inventory to make sure resorts are even available for your dates (you mentioned December which is peak travel time so resorts are bound to be full and flights will probably be more expensive than usual).  That would be my best recommendation for you.
