This is a question on lipstick shades. how does pink with blue hues look like? Does that type of shade look flattering on everyone?

Why do pink lipsticks look bad on me? (Fair)?
I'm a bit lighter than Revlon Colorstay 200 Nude. Brown hair & eyes :) I can pull off these dark and seductive lipsticks, but not light pinks! I don't like this because it doesn't express me correctly. I look goth, when I just want to look like my girly self! =) My friend bought me Revlon Just Bitten Kissable in Cherish (light pink) and it's so pretty, but it looks sooo odd on me :( Help? How to fix this?

Does very dark skin have an undertone?
YES, rich skin toned people have undertones.Since the skin depth is deeper, normally the undertone is deeper as well. On a fair person they may have a yellow or pink undertone but on a deep complexion the pink is more red. The yellow is more orange. Neutral on a rich/deep complexion means they are just a rich brown or black, no noticeable red or golden hue. Another undertone within very deep complexions is a slight purple or blue undertone, this is more prevalent with very deep skin tones. Blue undertone is seen in some pale people as well. You can go to a store and try shades on, get a feel for foundations and notice how they look compared to your neck or the rest of your body. If you try on a red based makeup and you're golden you'll notice your skin looks golden in comparison, if the foundation looks noticeably red but the rest of you is a normal brown then you are neutral etc then you have to realize each brand makes a foundation shade with different ratios of that undertone so one foundation may have too much red or not enough, too much yellow, not enough yellow, etc so it's really about trying quite a few.As far as blush, yes a rich colored girl can pull off rosy cheeks. I think the best type of blush is a very bright/saturated red, only a tiny amount is needed and it won't look ashy but give a nice flush

Red Lipstick for fair skin?
red is one of the hardest colors to find for yourself, it all depends on the undertones in your skin, if you're lucky like me and just have paper white skin it's slightly easier to find a good red because you can USUALLY (Sometimes, not always.) just use straight up bright red, like MAC Russian Red like I use. But if your skin has pink, yellow, etc undertones it's a bit harder, epically since you have light hair. If you're warm with olive or yellow undertones, choose a lipstick with orange or brown tones. (Think brick red or fire-engine red.) If you're cool with pinkish or reddish undertones, pick a red lipstick with blue or pink tones. With red there are the cheaper brands out there, but it's a better idea to invest in the more expensive brands. It's not a have to, but it's a good idea. Fair skin and red lipstick?
There are so many warm reds (yellow based), that you really have to put them on your hand (at makeup counters) to find a cool red to work for you. I'm also fair with cool undertones. The ones that are my current reds: bobbi Brown garnet shimmer bobbi brown tinted gloss in Cherry. These are both sheer because I like that effect. For more intensity, look at the regular lipsticks w/ the help of one of the make up representatives. I've always love MAC lipsticks, but don't have any reds from them.
