What websites typically have the worst user interface design?

Historically the worst websites stemmed from two backgrounds – single people with very little money and (rather) large organizations outside of the software industry. In both cases, it boils down to the lack of skills required to build a useful and usable website. When you are alone and want to announce something to the world you typically focus on the message rather than the presentation. Also, you would usually be too close to the message to be able to see it with the eyes of people it is targeted towards. Or utilize techniques that would tell you how people perceive your content. The other group would be large organizations (or their departments) outside of the software industry. These groups of people usually also lack the skill to organize information (e.g. on intranets or other internal websites) and usually (from my experience) do not outsource their needs to a capable entity. Because they have a platform at hand such as Microsoft Sharepoint they feel they have all they need to satisfy their need for sharing information.

What indispensable websites have poor user interfaces? And how are they poor?

Westlaw (www.westlaw.com).Massively cluttered--it tries to fit way to much information and choice onto a single page. On top of that, it is really not particularly good at helping users find information. It still relies heavily on database syntax and special codes for search. On top of that, within the list under the search box, which lists the databases to search, it doesn't even tell you the ones to which you subscribe. Other than some slightly slicker-looking shading, the interface hasn't changed much at all in at least 10 years (which is when I first started using it).The ability to use West's Key System, which in book form was a mainstay of legal research for a very long time, is even worse. You're stuck either browsing through its collapsible hierarchy, or doing a key search, which I've found doesn't really produce very good results. If you need this kind of topical research (helpful when you aren't turning up leads via Westlaw's traditional search), it is actually easier to use the books (provided you have them). Lawyers pay massive amounts of money for access to this database. It provides excellent information, but the company makes it way too difficult to navigate the website. While I think the database search syntax is probably still somewhat necessary (although perhaps a relic of the pre-web Internet era), I don't think the need for that syntax is an excuse for the website's overall clutter and navigational difficulties.

What are some example of user interface?

“Visualization is the most powerful tool”.UI is all about how far you can imagine the interaction between human and machine. To leverage this interaction UI plays and important role. The more powerful imagination the more powerful would be the solution to a problem using the UI.There is a beautiful article written by Kim Thuy Tu about the User Interface:I wanted to see how far I could push myself creatively. So I redesigned Instagram.I hope this helps you in framing a better mind towards the UI and unleash your creative potential.Happy Imagining.

What are some examples of web products (websites, apps, mobile sites) that have bad user experience (UX) designs, but are still popular?

If you are part of the product design world, then you must have in one way or the other come across Martin LeBlanc’s viral tweet, “A user interface is like a joke. If you have to explain it, it’s not that good.”But to be honest, there are indeed many web apps whose UI and UX need an explanation before adoption. (Nope. Not a joke!)Like Martin has also said, “What is intuitive changes over time and so does the best design solution!”Ever heard of or used Salesforce? Or, Oracle? These are enterprise applications that are battling complicated user experience and user adoption for a long time. So, handholding the users through the application has become a popular practice in driving user adoption. Here’s an example of how Whatfix can be used to guide users on Salesforce:But, where else have you seen such walkthroughs? Recently, when Google came out with a new version of Gmail, they had a walkthrough explaining where everything is in the new version and the new features. Remember? But, does that mean Gmail has a bad UX? Not really. Then, 1.) what is good UI/UX and 2.) do you need to handhold your users through the application?1.) Mark of a good UI is a simplified interface for a better user experience, and2.) Yes, for the simplest reason - Quick gratification. Many new age websites employ product tours to meet, greet, and guide users. Once a user signs up for your product, the first thing he/she needs is to understand the value of the product. The user success depends upon how they engage with the product, and use them as expected. Not on how well they figure out the product.Product tours help in streamlining this by highlighting and prompting the users to take actions that will help them understand the value of the app quickly. The most popular version of Product tours is Interactive Walkthroughs. It helps in handholding the user through an application over the major touch-points. It is often used in a complex and sophisticated application, they are widely accepted by Enterprises for employee training as well. What's the best computer program to use for writing music?

I've been wanting to start writing industrial rock music. I listen to Nine Inch Nails a lot, and want to start creating some nice instrumentals. I have so many beats in my head, but a lack of knowledge of how to get my beats onto a real song. The only tool I have is the computer. Is there any tips you can give me about how I should go about writing industrial music? I would also like to know of a good program that can help me do so.

Which software do you use the most for user interface design (UI) for website, mobile app & web app and why?

Fireworks, mainly because I'm fastest with it. I use Balsamiq Mockups for rough ideas and early "sketches" because it gets out of my way. I'm intrigued by Sketch though.  Illustrator and Photoshop are just the wrong tools for the job. (re-usable components are the key to productivity) Omnigraffle is also good, although for some reason I can't work as quickly in it.
