What Are Some Ways To P*ss Off Parking Enforcement

If a police officer is giving you a parking ticket, can you get in the car, drive away, and escape the ticket?

Not a good idea at all.  I had this happen several times while writing a parking ticket.  My philosophy was, I didn't park your car in the restricted area, you did. I would sit (in the squad car) behind the violator with the flashers or overheads on and write all the non-specific data on the ticket (violation code and description, my signature and star number, due date, hearing date, insert compliance/hearing instruction sheet, etc.), giving the driver enough time to come outside and discuss the situation with me. If I got to the part where I was writing in the details specific to that car (license plate number, vehicle make and color, date/time/location of violation), the ticket was going to be issued unless there were extenuating circumstances. On my department, every ticket had to be accounted for. By that I mean, if I voided a ticket, I had to write a To/From to my sergeant and the records department as to why the ticket was voided. I had no problem voiding a parking ticket if there were extenuating circumstances, but if there were none, I wasn't going to go out of my way just because someone ignored the signs. If I saw the driver approach his car and attempt to enter it, I would walk up to him and either tell him not to park there again or tell  him to wait a moment for the ticket. If he tried to drive away in spite of what I told him, he would probably get at least one other ticket (disobeying a police officer). You will very likely cause yourself more problems than you would have had by just letting the officer finish his/her job. You might be able to persuade the officer not to issue the ticket if you take the time to discuss it.Anyway, the license plate number is already recorded. It's no trouble at all for the ticket to be mailed even if there was no way for the officer to prevent you from driving away.

Can you get a parking ticket if you drive off before the parking police get to your car?

lol, i wouldnt worry about it too much.

first of all, if you didnt get a ticket, you didnt get a ticket.

second of all, she would have to prove in court that you saw her and left anyways. you could just say you didnt notice her when you were leaving, or know who she was when she was flagging you down. she could have been a crazy person for all you know.

if she had the number at the time, she may be able to give you a ticket, but if she recognized the car and gave you a ticket later, you could fight it because they couldnt prove it was YOUR car she saw when you left.

How does getting a parking ticket affect your driving record and your insurance premiums?

Most of the times, it is only Driving Violations like speeding, tailgating, wreck less operation, DUI or DWI and rash of accidents that are your fault that really effect your insurance.  Exceptions might be due how hard it is or it is not to get a parking space and the amount and or frequency of your tickets. Usually, even with those that are newly insured, they have no rise policy for those that experience an accident now and then.  If your parking tickets are now and then and you have a generally good relationship with your agent, parking tickets would not be detrimental.

Can you get a ticket for having tinted windows when the car is off and parked?

Perfectly legal. It is an equipment violation, not a moving violation. The car does not need to be driving for an equipment violation. They write people all the time for covers on the plate, tint, missing mirrors etc while parked. The law is being broken whether the car is running, parked or anything else. It states no more tint than a certain level. It is independent of everything else...

Also, you don't even have to be there. He is ticking the car and its registered owner, not the driver (although it may be one in the same)
