It’s probably the most realistic version of what people might do if they were stranded on a tropical island.Robinson Crusoe - Several versions exist. ‘Crusoe’ with Aidan Quinn and ‘Man Friday’ with Peter O’ Toole are okay versions. ‘The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe,’ the 1952 production by Luis Buñuel is probably the best, and sticks closest to the original story.Island of the Blue Dolphins - A wonderful story of a young Native American girl stranded on an island off the coast of California in the early 1800’s.Endurance - Take your pick. Either the Liam Neeson version, or the miniseries with Kenneth Branaugh. The miniseries is probably better, since it goes into extensive detail about the explorers Sir Ernest Shackleton had to leave behind on Elephant Island.
