I think there might be some confusion here from the way the question is worded but I can share something on the topic which might clarify what was behind the question.Pupil comes from Greek meaning “little person” and of course this word has been used to refer to students.The pupils of the eye got the name due to the fact that you can see a small reflection of yourself (a little person) in another person’s cornea. This is a touchy subject. You can't go around trying to determine what your student's ethnic background is just for kicks - that is odd and unethical! I personally feel that ethinic background is important to know if it comes up in a school situation for example around the topics of beliefs an cultural practices. HOwever that has more to do with CULTURE rather than ethnicity. Someone can be of ASIAN desent and have parents / grandparents born and raised in the United STates. Their ethnicity may or may not have an impact on their cultural practices. The biggest thing you should worry about is the role of cultural beliefs and practices in a studen'ts life. This can change the way the parents discipline their child, the parents view on you as the teacher, the parents view on school, the parents view on gender etc... All of which impact the student which in turn impacts school

This Question has Two sides 1) Acadamic Good Student 2) Genuine Good Student. I will suggest you to choose 2nd option and try to maintain 1st option with best possible your afforts. If you are a good person in your life than you can also be called as a good student. well i think a teacher should be: Happy, Understanding, nice, not stupid, willing, not crabby. I hate when teachers don't believe anything you say. I do think a teacher should be very organized and fair. I hate nosy teachers, I've had a nosy teacher and I hated it. She wanted to know everything about everyone, even personal lives. Also, one more thing, it bugs a lot of people when teachers have "favorites." Not everyone is a smarty pants. Everyone should be treated the same unless one is misbehaving. well, you get it..
