What Are Your Top 10 Scariest Movies Of All Time

Top 10 scariest movies ever?

Summary for my number one: A man rents a haunted mansion to live in while he begins teaching at a local university. His wife and daughter have recently died. He doesn't realize the house is haunted, of course, when he moves in. It's extremely spooky. I'd never watch it before going to sleep.

1. The Changeling (the George C. Scott movie, not Angelina)
2. The Descent
3. Halloween (the original)
4. The Amityville Horror (the remake)
5. Suspiria
6. Ju-on 2 (The Japanese original of the Grudge sequel--way different from the original)
7. The Eye (the orginal Chinese version)
8. The Orphanage (Spanish subtitled--very spooky)
9. The Devil's Backbone (Spanish subtitled)
10. The Abandoned
11. Drag Me to Hell

What are the top 10 scariest characters in movies?

Thanks for the A2A :)I’ll think of a couple….The Nazi’s from Dunkirk. Betcha didn’t expect this one. But the Nazi’s are treated as some unseen force of ultimate destruction, you never see them, but their presence seeps through everything. And it’s actually pretty scary! The Abominable Dr Phibes. Vincent Price hits a home run with his portrayal of a sinister doctor out to avenge the death of his wife by a group of incompetent doctors. This guy is freaky, he’s not friendly, and he’s deserves a bit more recognition. The man inside the planet, from Eraserhead. This guy is basically God. What appears to be a leprosy stricken man operates a bunch of levers, and that turns a mans life into a complete Hell somehow. This guy is just weird. He does not speak.Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Nothing can really be said about this oafish brute, this blue collar, mentally handicapped, psychopath armed with a chainsaw…. But at least he has presence.God, from Indiana Jones. Honestly, the all benevolent Christian God. The one who lead his people out of Egypt, the one that gave his only sons life…. and the creator of the ark of the covenant. Honestly, if that much power is stored in a tiny box like that, so powerful that looking within causes your face to melt, and your head to explode…. I’d hate to meet the guy who built it.… I’ll think of 5 more in a couple of hours. Don’t you worry. I left off on a good note right?Be back in like, 9 hours or sometime.

What are the scariest movies ever made?

I am a horror and thriller fan. I watch a lot of them. But for me the scariest movie is not a horror. You’ve probably heard the song One by Metallica. If you’ve seen the music clip you see they used clips from a film in the video. Because I am a curious guy I looked up the movie “Johnny Got His Gun”The movie, much like the metallica song, tells the story of a young soldier in world war 1 that gets hit by an artillery shell. He wakes up in the hospital a quadruple amputee who has also lost his eyes, ears, mouth and nose. He lost 4 of his 5 senses and the ability to move. He remains conscious and able to reason, but his wounds render him a prisoner in his own body. The movie is about him thinking, remembering his life before the war. After years he learns to communicate, using morse code. He asked to be shown to the public so people know the horrors of war. When they deny him that, he begs to be euthanized, which he is also denied. He has to stay the remainder of his life a prisoner of his own body. He can’t see, hear, speak, taste, move. He’s all alone. That is the scariest movie I’ve ever seen.

Top 10 Horror Movies of all time?

I find movies with situations that are kind of realistic, or could happen, are the scariest. Try these out:

1. Poltergeist
2. Omen (when that guy gets his head chopped off by a pane of glass..yea that was insane)
3. Amityville Horror (original)
4. One missed call (or really any Asian horror film. They're all soo good to me
5. Audition (another Asian horror film)
6. The Haunting in Connecticut
7.1408 was pretty creepy too
8. 100 Feet (I just saw that and it was good. Not a lot of spooks but it has a little suspense and I think the few SFX they have is worth it.)
9. Pumpkinhead
10. It (adapted from Stephen King's novel. This made me hate clowns for awhile lol).

Let me know if you like any of these.

What is the best, scariest ghost movie ever?

Ok my answer is somewhat different than others! :)Choosing Best scariest movie ever is really really difficult. Whereas I'm sure I can list a few that pops up into my mind when I think of so:Dead silence: I'm not sure how many people really watched this movie, but it scared me from bottom of my heart. My sister asked me to watch it, since she's a huge fan of Horror films. And few of the scenes just made me jump out of my seat. I really believe this movie is one of the best Horror movie I've ever seen. The Babadook: This movie scared the bejesus out of me. I mean I really dint expect this micro budget movie to be so outstanding. Movie is about a troubled widow discovers that her son is telling the truth about a monster that entered their home through the pages of a children's book. If you want to get scared, just watch Babadook & you'll know how much of this movie is worth deserving to be seen. The Tunnel: This movie was again made with a micro budget money, came from the fundraiser. This is a found-footage movie about a film crew learns of a government cover-up and investigates abandoned subway tunnels that are home to something sinister. It is one of my all time favorite horror movies. Some scenes are breathtaking and you'd just close your eyes for what would happen next. And that, I think is the victory of the makers.Grave Encounters: This movie just nailed it! Again made with tiny budget, found footage horror, which surely worth mentioning here. The story is about the crew of a ghost-hunting TV show goes insane after being locked in an abandoned psychiatric hospital.

(i hated and will never understand the hype over the descent and 28 days/weeks later. i basically don't like older horror movies as well.)

i cant remember the year of some of them on the list but majority are recent films that i did like. only one was from the 90's which is misery. i highlighted with *** the movies that belong to my favorite list which i've seen over and over
