What Artist Made Animal Look A Like Buildings

Why can't animals make things like computers, smartphones, airplanes, and buildings?

I would sugest you to take a look on Yuval Harari’s book: Sapiens, a brief history of humankind. He has a really interesting theory about why humans were the only animal capable of creating these things.Basically the humans (more especifically Homo sapiens) were able to advance to the point where we found ourselves today because of several abilities that other Homo that coexisted on Earth (erectus, Neandertal) didn’t have. Some of them are:Our ability to comunicate in a deep level of detail among other humans.Instead of saying just “Careful, lion!” like other monkeys do, we can say “Be aware of the lion next to the lake by the mountains. Should we try to gather more people around and hunt it down or just run?”Our ability to imagine things that doesn’t existReligion, culture and the big companies of today were only able to develop because of this capability; We can adapt very fast to changes; climate, food or any other major event. Even if some Homo sapiens failed on adapting to a new enviroment, the next on the line were able to eventully transpass that adversitySocial SkillsSince a newborn Homo sapiens need several years of care before being independent (diferent of horses or cats that in a few days can walk alone), we needed to develop social skills in order to procriate. This helped societies and comuities to grow, increasing this way the success and development of the Homo sapiens. There are several other interesting aspects listed on the book that lead Homo sapiens to the point were we can have smartphones, satelites and medicine, take a look! =)

Do certain animals/birds comprehend that buildings, cars, and airplanes have been made by humans?

No.  As far as birds know, everything is just THERE naturally.  NYC is just THERE.  They have no idea that other animals aren't just different kinds of birds, even if they don't know that there are kinds of birds that can't fly.  We're just NOT flying when they look.  They have no idea that any young might not come out of an egg.  If it's not alive, then it's something to sit on.  If it IS alive, then it's either food or a threat (most life is a threat). Most other members of animal species have never seen nor sniffed a human, let alone seen a building.  They live in forests or jungles, not in the city.  The majority of life lives in the water, but even those that live on farms, while they can see a building or two, have never seen a city.  Their OWN barn has just always been there, for their whole life, so it's natural.  It's the same thing with most other animals: squirrels have seen the same buildings all of their lives, so they're natural.

Do animals understand the difference between man-made and natural structures?

I think some intelligent animals, such as mammals and birds, know "animate" from "inanimate", because they need to understand what has agency and can potentially want to harm them, and also understand what or who can interact with them socially or on different levels. So, animals "know" other animals and can distinguish them from rocks, or a tree. Whether they can understand if a rock is natural or made of cement, I doubt it. The breaking down of the world in these categories (i.e. natural inanimate object vs man made inanimate object is not helpful or interesting to them.

Do any of you think humans aren't animals? What's your reason for that?

We're made of animal cells

We share almost all of our DNA with two other species of ape (bonobo and chimpanzee)

we are basically identical morphologically to other mammals

thousands of other species have sex for pleasure (evidenced by their whacking it off when they're alone)

other species obviously have the capability to love eachother, you've never had a dog if you think otherwise. Lots of animals stop eating when their loved one dies, or just sits around sad.

The most common argument I see is "But we're WAY smarter than other animals, can an animal make a gun or building???" Actually, other animals can make buildings (Bower Birds). But SO WHAT? If a cheetah had laser vision would it cease to be an animal? If a turtle could teleport would it cease to be an animal? Why is intelligence a reason to make us not animals, when our entire body is animal?

Do other animals make visual art or music? (What is art?)

Many creatures, other than humans, make visual designs. We might call it “artful”, but they would probably use different words if they could speak.Training animals to make pictures seems to me like a bit of a circus trick, so I will only mention animals that engage in creative behaviour in the wild, WITHOUT human instruction and prompting. For instance, the male Puffer fish will swim along the bottom of the ocean, using his body to shape the sand into pleasing geometric patterns. He engages in this behaviour to attract females, who are seduced by these impressive designs. Exactly what the female is responding to — symmetry of design, variety of shapes, complexity of form, intricacy of line, overall scale — is a matter of speculation. The Bowerbird is another remarkable creature that uses visual design to enhance its surroundings. The male will collect all kinds of colourful, textured objects and then arrange them in a pleasing fashion around his bower. He'll also construct elaborate arches and columns to make his “bachelor pad” even more impressive to the ladies. If that doesn't work, he'll try something that looks an awful lot like “performance art” to seduce females. There are several wonderful moments in the video below that EVERY guy will recognize because we've ALL been there: putting our heart and soul into the job of impressing a date and thinking it's going really well, only to watch it all fall apart at the very end! It's the universal “crash and burn” experience. Is the behaviour of animals like the Puffer fish and the Bowerbird really all that different than what humans do?I've known painters and sculptors who make art with the unspoken intention (sometimes, they just come right out and admit it) of attracting sexual partners.

IS THIS ANIMAL REAL OR NOT?

It's a publicity stunt for japan only and they are notorious for building robots and other inventions. Just think about the mythical creatures they invented like godzilla.

Those creatures they invented there that look like big pink land jellyfish or slugs was just to put it on film for Youtube. Anyway watching that film made me dizzy.

What EASY ceramic animal should i make?

I have to make some sort of animal or human figure in my ceramics class and i have no idea what to make. It can be pretty much anything, but the problem is im not artistic at all and dont have the abilities to make any sort of ceramic animal well. (i can barely hand-build a bowl straight) I was thinking mabe a turle, but i dont know. The teacher wants it mabe about 12 inches in height 18 max, and it has to be made using coil building. He wants things all artistic (LETS MAKE A COW-DOG-HORSE-RABBIT!) but im not really about mixing animals and just want to do something easy that will actually look like the intended animal. Help!?
