What Can I Do In The Military

What can I do after im done serving the military?

Ok here's the deal. Im 16 and its been my DREAM to join the Marines. So far in high school my GPA is 2.9 or something like that. I don't really know what I should choose at the moment. Navy Or Marines? I like the Navy because the Training is EXTREMELY difficult ( or as I heard), And the Marines Have more pride because they're always the first to go to war. Don't get me wrong, I have 100% respect for all soldiers, of every branch. After im done with my time, What kinda of careers can it open for me? Or approximately how much will they pay me if I stayed in? All answers are appreciated. :D

What can TACP do after the military?

Okay. I'm going to BMT for the Air Force in two months and I'm pretty headstrong about getting into TACP. I passed my PAST with flying colors (9:00 on the 1.5mile run, 79 pushups, 67 situps, 12 pullups, as well as success on the 500 meter swim and 20 meter underwater swim).

I no longer have a doubt in my mind about blowing **** up for a career in the USAF. My question is, however, what can TACP do after the military?

Based on some research, I know that TACP would be qualified for any job that requires wielding a gun (a police officer, FBI Agent, Secret Service, etc.) due to their intense physical training sessions and their mastery with weapons. On the other hand, their CCAF degree reads Systems Information Technology...

So if anyone can shed some light on any of this, it would be useful: ex-TACP/JTAC personnel, military experts, etc.

My other question would is: What can you do in civilian life that allows you to carry a gun and use a computer at the same time?

What can i do to keep gays out of the military?

im in the military and i never got that email that allowed me to have my say.
the people in congress usually have never been in any of the situations that servicemembers find themselves in . look at the statistics the easier or lax the service is the more willing they are to accept gays. the chairforce being the most accepting(go figure ) and the marines being the least.

What can I do with an art degree in the U.S. military?

DO NOT HESITATE. Go see a recruiter. The DoD doesn't care what your degree is in, just that you had the maturity and higher-order thinking skills to finish school. Foreign language majors get commissions in combat engineers, phys ed degree holders go into intelligence, anybody can go into the infantry.  When you go into the military, they train you in whatever they need, and the knowledge and experience you bring with you just add to it. I worked with a girl with a degree in art and architecture, and she went into computers, setting up secure networks in the US and Afghanistan. She now makes a ton of money as a government civilian, thanks to her security clearance. Your options are to enlist for a commissioning program (officer) or join as an enlisted soldier and apply for a commissioning program (Officer Candidate/Training School). You can go full-time military, or joing the reserves/national guard and go through all the training, then go home and just train on weekends. Among the enlistment bonuses may be College Loan Repayment, which will pay off most or all of your student loans in exchange for successful service.

Can you do pushups in the military using your fists?

Yes you are allowed, but I think it must get painful after a while...but they recently changed the rules so that is can be done that way if you choose, so there must be someone who wanted to do it that way.

What can i do if the military breached my contract?

The term for what happened to you is: 'defective enlistment.' You need to talk to the IG and have them investigate to determine if there was a breach of contract on the part of the government. If they determine that there is a breach of contract you will be given the option of either continuing your enlistment under the new conditions of being discharged under honorable conditions.

As for the monry for college - you have to have the IG investigate this for you also.

What can military pilots do after leaving the military?

Military pilots can do about anything they want after leaving the military that does not involve flying. Remember that military pilots are all college graduates, and many from The US Air Force Academy, Naval Academy, Princeton, Duke, etc. Additionally, there is a fairly substantial washout rate because its extremely difficult to make it through military aviation training successfully. Here is a partial list of things military pilots can and have done in large numbers other than fly for airlines.Go to Med School and become MDs. I have a number of USNA classmates that are now medical doctors.Go to Law School.Go get an MBA. The number of Harvard, Stanford, etc MBAs at my 30th USNA reunion was staggering.Run for Congress. Senators John McCain and John Glenn were both military pilots. As are a number current members of the House of Representatives and numerous State Legislatures.Get a job like any other college grad. Most pilots that are leaving the military are either doing so because they have retired, or they want to do something different. They are talented, educated, motivated, and generally are individuals with lots of energy and personal drive. They can accomplish whatever they want to accomplish.Life is their Oyster.

What can I do in the military with a computer science degree?

A2AIn my experience, very little if you’re enlisted. Since my background is Navy, that’s what I’ll talk about, though I know the Air Force does have enlisted programmers. In the Navy, enlisted personnel are generally only seen by their rank and rate (job category). So, even though I have an AS, a BS, and an MS degree (all IT related), it didnt matter as to what jobs I got. If I didn’t attend a Navy technical school, I wasn’t allowed to do the job.The biggest things I got to do because of my education was work as a project manager (for a project that was eventually killed off) and as a programmer for an in-house IDS. The programming job only came about because my command learned that I had written a series of Python programming books, not because of my degrees. While I tried to get commissioned, in the Navy it is very difficult to do if you’re already enlisted; coming in as a civilian is much easier. Going from enlisted to officer is generally easier in the other branches. I’ve known two or three people who got out as enlisted just so they could come back in to the officer corps as a civilian, due to how much easier it is.So, if you’re coming in and actually want to do something cool, come in as an officer. They are involved in the neat R&D projects, though you might not be working as a hands-on programmer but more as a manager of cool projects. If you end up more operational than research, officers run divisions and departments, with the goal of ultimately becoming a commanding officer of a unit.Basically what I’m saying is, if you want to actually do something with your degree, the Navy may not be your best choice. You’re at the mercy of what openings are available when you pick orders, so there is no guarantee you will be doing something cool. The vast majority of your work will be managing people and projects. If that’s something you want to do as a civilian, then the military will give you experience. If you want to be more technical, look at the Air Force or working as a government civilian.
