What Can I Write About A Creative Writing Task Called

My teacher failed me in my creative writing class for being "too creative"?

We had a take home quiz. We had to write our own personal interpretation of a poem. I took a long time and wrote my perspective of the poem and gave examples of why I interpreted it in that certain way. My teacher failed me saying that I was too creative even though the class is called creative writing. I spoke to her about how that wasn't fair and she didn't care in the least. Do you think it was wrong or should I just suck it up and deal with it? The question for the quiz wasn't "what is the meaning behind this poem or what is going on in this poem" the question was "in your opinion, how do you interpret this poem?"

End of the world creative writing ideas!?

You could model your piece on the weather forecast that you see on TV. The announcer smiles into the camera, and says, "Good evening. Here is the forecast for tomorrow, Wednesday. The day will start with heavy cloud building up from the west. As the morning progresses, torrential rain will affect low-lying areas, while at higher levels, hailstones can be expected to cause some damage. About midday the precipitation will be accompanied by thunder and lightning, which should cause widespread fires. Towards the middle of the afternoon, volcanic activity will be apparent, and small earthquakes are expected. These small earthquakes will become more widespread, but should swallow up not only small towns but the mudslides which will be caused by the rain. After sunset (which will not be apparent because of the volcanic smoke and the heavy clouds) the end of the world is expected. This should last well into the night, and will lead to the extinction of all life on this planet. Thursday will begin with a light frost and clear skies, and the temperature will have a low of eight degrees, with a high of twelve degrees. Sunrise on Thursday will be at 6.30, and sunset at 8.45. Have a good evening."

What are some ideas for creative writing about journeys?

If it were my project I’d be all over this! Because, as you know, journeys don’t have to be physical. But, let’s start with physical. What’s the most important trip you’ve made? Was it to the doctor with someone close to you who was really ill, or were you really ill? How about a trip to visit relatives you haven’t met before? Or your first camping trip? Did that experience change you? How?How do you see the world differently now than you did in your past? You can talk about how it was when you lived as a small child in a different house, and then change to a scene in the present and talk about how it is now that you’re older. Or maybe it’s the same house and you feel more at home, or less …How about your education? You can write about things that happened that were important to you through the grade school years on up through the school year that you’re in now. That can be a very profound experience, as you’re exposed to more and more complex problems while simultaneously your mind is maturing and adapting to solve those problems.Hopefully that’ll get you started (if it’s not too late for your project.)

Where do you go after getting a creative writing degree?

Your mum has a good point. I did a similar arts degree, and recently bumped into someone from my university. We were talking about who we keep in touch with, and when I mentioned someone else from our course, she asked "Which fast food chain is she working for now?"

Seriously, though, there are things you will be able to use your degree for, other than teaching - although that is probably the most straight-forward and, believe it or not, profitable career path. Until you have got your own fiction under way, you can look at other writing jobs, for example with newspapers and magazines, preferably those that cater to your interests. Although there isn't always a lot of money in doing this at first, and you may need to start at the bottom or freelance to begin, it will mean that your name will be out there and gaining recognition for when you are ready to look for publishers for your own work, and will also provide you with a folio of published work, should you be asked to present this to anyone in future. Other options are things like copywriting for publicity companies, press releases, things like that. Think about looking at public relations firms and things like that.

Good luck!

How can I write an essay about how school kills creativity?

This is an ironic question to me: I had an essay prompt about whether schools should start a class called “Creativity 101,” or something of the sort.I chose the harder path and said no, but at this point I’m going off-tangent.It all depends on how you choose to refute, concede, and support your essay (your plan of development). For example: I hate bees and they should not exist. Well, that can be your assertion (opinion). Most people, however, will not agree with this statement and instead disregard you work if you do not support it with strong claims. If you can support your claim with, for example, statistics, personal experience, and maybe a famous scientist’s words, then you have your evidence. But that’s not all!In most high school essays, your teacher requires you to concede to a statement. This means agreeing to what the opponent has in mind. For example, in such an essay, “Bees are vital in our current ecosystem BUT…” (I capitalized for emphasis)See that? Yes, one may think this will weaken one’s essay, but it is a double-edged sword. A concession such as this often works well with a solid refutation such as”…there are plenty of butterflies and insects which can pollinate flowers. Even squirrels and other rodents benefit the ecosystem with seed dispersal…”So, in short, it does not matter if your essay is on creativity or bees. You need an assertion, strong evidence, and a plan in mind for your essay. You need a thesis statement.
