What Can This Lady Do With My Plate Numbers

What can people do with your license plate number?

You can relax, Vio's answer is total BS. Carfax has cute commercials, but they're not an authority of any kind anywhere. Their ads make it look like they're the be-all-end-all final word on every vehicle's repair history, but in reality they're just a paid marketing service. And they don't trace licence plates, they only do VIN numbers.

Unless this woman has a badge, there isn't squat she can do. There is no legal way for anyone (except a cop) to look up your name and address using your plate number, and the illegal way (hacking a government website, bribing a cop) is just too risky.

There are a billion or so websites that offer to do that very thing, always for a modest fee of course, and every one of them are frauds. If this bimbo wants to give her credit card number to a bunch of Russian scammers in hopes of tracking you down, that's her problem.

And you're right, reporting you to the cops will result in nothing. Cops get several dozen of those calls a day, and they have a standard procedure for handling them. They listen to descriptions of the horrendous and maniacal driving, ask for a description of the vehicle, pretend to write down the plate number, ask which way the vehicle was headed, say "well send a unit out to that area right now", thank them for calling, and forget the whole thing.

You're fine, bud. Try not to drive like a rectum next time. You really don't want your next question to be "I just wrecked my dad's Porsche, will he be mad", I assure you of that.

How can i run a license plate number?

Some lady cut me off on the road and kept flipping me off and stuff and basically ran me off the road. I took down her plate number but im not sure how to find out where she lives or who she is. What is the best way to get your license plate number if you don't have the plate?

I guess the first question to ask is why don’t you have the plate? Is it possible that you don’t have the plate because you don’t have a car? Assuming you actually have a car the next question to ask is why don’t you have at least one of the plates? If you don’t have the plate do you at least have the car registration. If you do, you should be able to get the plate number off the registration. If you don’t have the registration, do you have insurance on the car? If you have insurance you insurance company should have the plate number. If you don’t have insurance then you shouldn’t be driving the car so don’t worry about the plate number.

What happens if someone writes down your license plate number and calls the police for wrekless driving?

So i was coming home from the shore and this lady was going 35 in a 40 area. The two cars in front of me went on the opposite side of the road when no cars where coming and passed her. When i went to do that a car came speeding and force me to the shoulder still on the opposite side after that car passed i went to the right side. The lady was yelling at me and i think she called the cops and took my license plate number. Whats gonna happen? I know it was stupid but i wanted to get home and she was going so slow. Im so scared right now.

Can i job application ask for my license plate number?

my cousin filled out a application for a job which asked for her licenses number and her plate number.well not thinking she provided them with the information.but the job turned out to be a big joke.she said the lady met her outside, smoking a cigarette, and she had loud music coming from the office, and the guy she interviewed was quite strange.she asked where all the employees were and they were supposedly working out in the field.the company is called all star advertising. they deal with many familiar companies like disney and other big names.my cousin was there for 8 minutes and got the heck out of there.and threw the business card out the window.plus it was in a bad neighbor"hood"

This lady took a picture of my license plate, can i get in trouble?

So, today I was driving in my city which is in southern IL. This lady in front of me was driving slowly, so i started tailgating her. She made a rude gesture at me, and I made it back. Then she started driving slowly on purpose so i passed her...in the turn median (clearly illegal.) Unfortunately, I still got stopped at the next stoplight, and she was right behind me. I look in my rear-view mirror and see her pull out a camera, and snap 3 or 4 pictures of my car. Stupid woman. Having my license plate number, can she take legal action or report me to the police, even though her picture shows me doing nothing illegal, on the grounds of "road rage" or "reckless driving"? Because i definitely did NOT hit or damage her car in any way.
Thanks

By the way, I know i'm an asshole, you don't have to mention that. But people here drive like they're asleep, it's not my fault.

Is it illegal to take a picture of a person's license plate and then post it online?

No, as long as you legally took the picture of them in public without obstructing their routine, are not stalking or following them, and you are not posting anything of a personal or private matter, and the postings are not lies, racial, slanderous, or defamatory.I have routinely taken pictures of vehicles improperly parked and posted them online, as well as reported then to the police, parking authority, or bylaw enforcement. There's nothing illegal about that; it just shows how carelessly ignorant that driver was, especially when they park where it's clearly posted that it's not permitted, like a disabled spot, fire route, fire hydrant, intersection corner, front lawn, sidewalk, or backwards on a one way street, etc.Incidentally, this is exactly how they caught a bank robber in the Scarborough area of Toronto last summer. There were a series of bank robberies by a person wearing a full burka. The getaway vehicle was illegally stopped, and running by the banks front doors at each incident. During one robbery a pedestrian thought it was strange and took a picture of the running vehicle with the driver inside, then called the police. About 3 hours later, they apprehended the driver. About 1 hour later they apprehended the bank robber in the Ajax/Oshawa area, still carrying the same gun, and then found a teenage boy underneath the female family members burka.Hence the burka ban in Quebec, and the illegal use of any and all face coverings while on public, used to disguise the identity of a criminal.
