On their 19th anniversary (congrats!) you can definitely do several nice gifts which are not so expensive -Secretly, collect several of their photos right from the marriage. Then take a large paper and add the photos there making a nice collage. Add some nice notes around the collage and of course write happy 19th anniversary on it. You can also have several family/friends sign/write notes on it making it even more special.Make something using your own passion and talents, does not matter what those are. For example if you like cooking, prepare a nice dinner for them. If you like painting do a nice painting, if you can sing then record a song or sing it live to them, if you like writing poems write a nice poem to them....First take your video camera/mobile phone and meet as many family friends as you can, the more the better. Perhaps include your parents best friends which they do not get to meet.. When you meet them, have them say happy anniversary to your parents and say some other nice memory. If your budget is too low for a party make a list of (how ever many years) they are married why they are the best parents, include silly and fun things about them. Print it and frame it. They will LOVE it, trust me.
Where to get an inexpensive wedding ring?
As others have said Etsy, Ebay, are good ideas. Just wanted to give you a little info about stones ---- Real sapphires, emeralds, rubies and some other colored gemstones can actually be MORE expensive that diamonds! So any ring that is under $100 is not going to have a real Sapphire in it unless it is a tiny chip of very low grade stone. Be aware that many stones are much too soft or fragile for an engagement ring. Some stones will even break if exposed to a sudden change in temperature! There is a reason diamonds and gold have been traditionally used and that is because diamonds are very hard and long lasting. My advise to you would be to look into Topaz. Topaz comes in a zillion colors and it is very hard. It is also very affordable. I recently purchased a sterling silver and topaz ring and it was under $100 and it is very pretty. If you do a quick check on Ebay you will find a ton of Topaz rings. Before buying just make sure to read the description of the stone and make sure it is labeled "Natural" not "synthetic" or "lab" --- also topaz is usually treated in some way to make the color better or the stone clearer, that is fine, don't be turned off about that.

Anniversary gift to represent the future?
I got an answer on a previous question that gave me a good idea what to do for my boyfriend and I's 1st anniversary. It was to give 3 small inexpensive gifts to represent the past present and Future of us as a couple. For the past I made a website with pictures of us and our inside jokes from the past year (we are both video game addicts and are often on the computer) For the present I liked the idea of something we can do together like a movie we both like or something, any other ideas on that? (The day after our anniversary I have to leave to go back to school for 2 months, we talk on the phone for 4-6 hours everyday and play lotr online together. but something sweet or a cute romantic new tradition would be a really cool idea? any help with that? And for the future I am stumped, we were best friends for 2 years before we dated and have talked about marriage and our futures together but what would be a small inexpensive and extremely thoughtful gift to represent that? PLEASE HELP!!! Our actual anniversary isn't till Feb 1, but since I am leaving on sunday he thought we should celebrate it on Saturday while I am here. Fill yourself the room with candles and roses petals, I do not know about you but some "good videos" Another thing you can do is going to a beautiful picnic, in a secure area, but not crowdy, buy some cheesse, bread and hams, good wines and strawberries and candles, with his favorite dessert. And of course buy the sexiest underware outfit that you think he would like and enjoy!
Too broke to celebrate anniversary this year...?
Due to the recent inflation in the cost of living, my husband and I are running a bit short on cash. Our anniversary is next week, and I need some ideas to help us celebrate.
