What are some good words to describe snow?

SnowThe first moment I was having lunch and mocking the inaccuracy of weather forecast, the next moment when I finished eating and took a glance through the window, flurries of snow had been roiling in the air under the command of capricious, roaring winds.Sometimes zillions of snowflakes were dancing in perfect synchronization, thudding against the grounds and architectures at exactly the same angles and speeds; other times glittering snow flakes in different spots are in total disharmony as some downright plummet while others drift about in the winds, a horizontal stroke of sudden flurry here, a tilting streak of bursting velvet there. The winds, blowing in wild irregularities, are just like a whimsical conductor in firm control of a live symphony, with billions of snow flakes forming floating notes and the booming roars serving as the background music. With a dramatic decrease in ferocity, the wind downgraded to gentle grumblings. Velvety snow lost its speed and power, but gained grace and tenderness. With little tweaks of the naughty winds, countless dainty butterflies are swirling, waltzing and chasing each other in an easy and courtly manner.Tyrannical wind stopped, floating blanket thinned and the day whitened, leaving a thick comforter on the roofs.Windows opened, doors ajar and children squealed, ready to appreciate and play with the cottony snow.

How to describe a winter scene?

You chose the wrong place to ask this question. Many answerers in this category are verbally abusive people. The best way to describe snow is to recollect how you captured the moment in your mind, and if you've never been in snow look up some images and make a list of as many adjectives you can think of and different synonyms for the word. Scramble them and try to put them together. That's what I do. If your serious about writing get into a writing workshop. Your more likely to get constructive criticism and advice on how to go about this. You will also see your strengths and weaknesses.

Update: see my point with the comment on my answer? That's exactly what I'm talking about. There's something seriously wrong with the ppl in this category. There's constructive criticism and then there's verbal abuse. Verbally abusive writing like "oh that's stupid" and "you must be retarded to write that" Real comments I've read told to teens on here. This is not criticism. It's abuse. If that's the case teachers need to be saying stuff like that more to children who start learning to write.
