What Category Of Drugs Is The Most Dangerous

Which drugs are the most dangerous, alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, heroin, ecstasy or speed/ice?

I would rate them as follows (in order of most potential danger to one’s own self to least potential danger, and I’ll list a few more that you didn’t mention just for fun):AlcoholTobaccoHeroin & Fentanyl & any other opiate analogue stronger than HeroinMeth & other AmphetaminesBenzosAll other opiates (Percs, Vics, Roxys, Oxys, Buprenorphine, etc.)CocaineEcstacy & MDMALSDMushroomsCannabis

Should alcohol be put in the same category as hard drugs like heroin and cocaine?

Yes, alcohol is quite possibly the most dangerous drug available. I remember a time when I was 19, I was talking about heroin users and how I would never use heroin because the addicts always end up on the street with nothing left. My roommate said to me, "go down to the street and talk to those guys, they are all on the last drug, alcohol. Someone on heroin might end up there, but then they move on to alcohol. Alcohol is the last drug."Alcohol is one of the few drugs that is so addictive that withdrawals can be fatal. People die from detoxing from alcohol. My best friend was in the ICU for a week after getting stabbed in the chest. They had to give him beer while he was in there because they were afraid he would die if he didn't drink. Alcohol lowers inhibitions more than any other substance I know of. Sure I know meth addicts who will do Anyang for more meth, I know crack feinds who will perform fellatio for crack. But nothing will lower inhibitions like alcohol. Alcohol is the original date rape drug. A few drinks will lower many peoples inhibitions enough to forget about any promises they may have previously made. Alcohol lowers a person's ability to make rational decisions more than any other drug. I would trust a meth addict to follow instructions better than a drunk guy. Someone on pot or heroin will fall asleep or eat twinkles. Someone on cocaine will do more cocaine. But someone on booze will decide to drive across town and slide into a family of six then not remember why they got behind the wheel. Alcohol seems benign and safe at first. It is deceptive. It feels like it is helping you at first. One day you find that you have fucked off your entire life for it and you have ruined all your potential because you were drunk. Sure other drugs are the same way, but those drugs are known to be dangerous and addictive from the start. No one starts using meth thinking that they will be fine and won't get addicted. People know heroin will ruin your life. Alcohol feels safe. I don't think it should be banned, but it is not a harmless drug. It is likely more harmful than any other drug I have experience with and I can say that is a long list. For the record, I do drink. I don't often get drunk but I have at least a few drinks most nights. I also use meth regularly, alcohol is the more dangerous drug in my opinion. The danger is related to the assumption that it is safe and harmless.

Why is Heroin considered the most dangerous drug?

Heroin holds a stigma in western culture as a drug that will destroy you. To an extent in western culture that is true. It is in fact highly addictive and has some of the worst withdrawal symptoms of any drug. The truth is that in the east there are cultures where heroin is openly used. (these populations are dwindling though.)

Heroin produces great euphoria and a sense of blissful apathy. This makes it very easy to shift from use to abuse.

As for benefit, the black market for heroin is a massive money making operation. In the north eastern united states a days supply of heroin for an addict costs about 75$.

Are stimulant drugs the most dangerous drug class? They can pose threats to your heart and hype you up I think sugar is a stimulant too.

Sugar is definitely  a toxic substance that’s bad for the body and is a contributing cause for many illnesses.  Stimulant drugs like amphetamines are illegal unless prescribed and are toxic as well as very dangerous to the body unless monitored under the close supervision of a physician.Presently the stimulant drugs are being overtaken by the opioid class of drugs which are most often prescribed by physicians for pain management. this is not to say that the physicians are at fault for utilizing the best tool they have for alleviating pain.  The responsibility lies with patients who lie to get the drugs. A few physicians have been prosecuted for running fake pain clinics to prescribe opioids indiscriminately but they are rare. All street drugs run the risk to the user that they have been cut with other dangerous chemicals and they should be tested before ingestion.

What's more dangerous, Xanax or codeine?

I THOUGHT THAT THE ANSWER THAT WAS SUBMITTED BY CAROL CLICK WAS VERY GOOD AND DID NOT NEED IMPROVEMENT BUT I WILL ADD SOME ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. THIS WAS AN EXCELLENT QUESTION, LIAM.CODEINE IS A NARCOTIC,AN OPIATE DERIVATIVE AND IS INTENDED TO BE USED FOR PAIN AND COUGHS.DENTISTS USED TO PRESCRIBE IT A GREAT DEAL BEFORE THE DEVELOPMENT OF NON STEROIDAL ANTI INFLAMATORIES. THESE ACTUALLY WORK BETTER EXCEPT FOR COUGHS, AT RELIEVING PAIN FROM MINOR SURGERY. XANAX IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT BALL OF WAX. IT IS IN A CATEGORY OF DRUGS KNOWN AS BENZODIAZAPINES.THESE ARE STRICTLY ANTI ANXIETY DRUGS INTENDED FOR SHORT TERM USE AS THEY ARE ADDICTIVE. XANAX IS ONE OF THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER DRUGS AND IS PROBABLY THE MOST ADDICTIVE OF THE DRUGS IN IT`S CLASS. IN SUMMARY BOTH DRUGS SHOULD HAVE LIMITED, SHORT TERM USE

What is the most dangerous pain relief medication, why?

Opioids are a large category of drugs, but they have done the most damage throughout the United States and the world. They are incredibly addictive and have become extremely accessible. They are easily taken and are often considered to be not dangerous by many patients.Opioids have been manufactured in the millions for years and have become easier to access and use than many other forms of pain medication. There has been a widespread practice by many doctors to hand out the medication as a band-aid and send every post-op patient home with them. This has led to a widespread addiction to not just pharmaceutical opiates, but also illicitly produced ones such as heroin. Without a doubt they have become the most dangerous pain reliever in the world.

Is Heroin the worst drug?

Heroin is the deadliest drug in the world but the most addictive substance is Nicotine (Heroin is in 2nd place when it comes to addiction).
