Is it easier to get girls in college

One cool thing about college, it pretty much levels the playing field. H.S. is one long ugly soap opera, and if you are branded "cool" or "uncool" that pretty much determines a lot of your social life. When you start college, there are very few people that have known each other long enough to establish cliques or to operate on someone else's opinion rather than their own. So that makes it easier. It's harder in that it's much more anonymous. You can go to classes all day and not talk to a single person if that is your choice. So, that same old answer that you're tired of...it's up to you. If you go into college with the outlook, "I AM going to meet people, (regardless of gender) I AM going to make friends" and go out of your way to do it, you'll have a ball. GL

Is it easy to get girls in college?

It was when I went to college. 10,000 girls in my approximate age range, living away from home for either the first time, or for not very long in their lives, surrounded by tons of things to do.Was it easy to get a girl? Totally. You’d meet them in class, in clubs, at sports, at bars, at the student center, in the library, at the dining hall, at dances, at fraternity parties, at sorority parties, at rush, at volunteer events, you name it. Girls were everywhere. And there was another (mostly girls) college nearby, Radford University. Most guys are timid. They want to know the answer before they approach a girl. I was a little different. I got dumped hard by my HS girlfriend within just a few weeks of leaving for school. I LOVED the shit out of that girl, and it really hurt me. In fact, it hurt so much that I couldn’t feel any rejection from anybody else. So I wasn’t afraid of rejection. Whatever a girl might say to me could not begin to compete with the pain that already constantly surrounded me. Only SHE had the power make me feel bad, nobody else.So I would introduce myself, have some fun, get a date or get laid. And if this girl wasn’t receptive, that one was. It didn’t matter to me, as long as I found the girl attractive. Yeah, I got rejected, but I got a ton of acceptances too. There was a real lesson that I learned in all that, and it helped me get all the dates I ever wanted after college too. I hope you can see it.Good luck.

Why is it easier to get into college than a job?

Think of the process as clearing three consecutive hurdles—each one higher than the last:Being accepted at college. (This is the hurdle most teenagers obsess about. In actuality, it is not that hard to find a school that will accept you and your parent’s money.)Graduating with a marketable major. This next hurdle is much higher. Half of those who graduate end up under employed or unemployed.Getting hired for a well-paying job. Success! There is a simple economic principle called the law of supply and demand that explains how this works:Law of Supply and Demand: Basic EconomicsWe live in a society that suffers from an irrational obsession, “College Mania.” This drives the demand for seats in colleges and universities with over forty percent of high school graduates seeking admittance. Given the system of government sponsored loans there are few immediate barriers constraining supply.Thomas B Walsh's answer to What was the total amount of student loan debt in 1950?On the other hand our society is also based on capitalism—described by Investopedia as:“…an economic system in which capital goods are owned by private individuals or businesses. The production of goods and services is based on supply and demand in the general market (market economy), rather than through central planning (planned economy or command economy). The purest form of capitalism is free market or laissez-faire capitalism, in which private individuals are completely unrestrained in determining where to invest, what to produce or sell, and at which prices to exchange goods and services, operating without check or controls. Most modern countries practice a mixed capitalist system of some sort that includes government regulation of business and industry.”The need to make a profit constrains the number of suitable jobs (demand) available for the newly minted, readily available college graduates (supply).Corollary:In the US college is a competition for a few good jobs. Colleges get paid whether or not you learn anything, graduate, get a good job, or go broke in the process. Our country has over 2400 universities and colleges. Many of these institutions are of sound quality. It is no great challenge to get accepted into a good school or program. You can always find some school that will accept you and your parent’s money. The “trick” is getting out of college and into a good job.

Is community college easy to get into?

Yes, they are very easy to get into. They also provide financial aid if needed. However, just because it's easy to get into doesn't mean everything about it will be easy. Classes will be tougher and you will have to keep your grades up so that you can apply to a good school

What colleges have good dance programs, but are easy to get into academically?

Getting a BA not a BFA requires more academics and better grades than most BFA's do. A BFA is for performance and has twice the amount of dance as a BA has. You can get a certificate not a BFA or BA at Alvin Ailey for their program w/o academics which is the Fordham/Ailey program without Fordham. if you don't have the grades but have the talent. I will also mention, but don't count on getting into this program, Juilliard. They offer a BFA and all you need is a high school diploma and a GED will do. However, they take only 12 girls and 12 boys into the freshman class. That means you have to be one of the 12 of your gender to get in. This year, they had a 5.5% acceptance rate. Dancers trained at the School of American Ballet often don't get in because there are so few spots. Many fabulous dancers are passed over because of this and no one has a guarantee to make this school no matter what your background. Getting in is a crap shot for the very talented and well trained dancer.
I suggest you pick up a copy of DANCE magazine's College Guide. They list all the schools, what they offer and what they require. With your academic background you should look for a BFA not a BA degree. If you have the talent and dance training, I am sure you can find a school that will take you. Especially since you already have a year of college and hopefully did well enough.

Is it easier to get into a top college with certain majors?

I get asked this question all the time.Major selection is more relevant for schools like the UC’s, where you have to select your major and are essentially locked into that major once you get in. It’s very difficult to change your major for UC’s once you’re accepted. For the Ivy Leagues and other top universities, however, you can change your major 20 times if you like. You can even apply undecided. I changed my major multiple times while I was at Princeton as my interests changed, from chemistry to operations research to physics to finally economics. So is it easier to get into a top university like Princeton or Harvard with certain majors? Not really. For UC’s? Yes, I do think that is more relevant, but not by much.
