What Comedy Duos Of Today Could I Compare To Abbott And Costello

Best comedy duo ever?

laurel and hardy..

Comedy duo, ones really tall and ones really short? the short one doesnt talk?

Penn and Teller, perhaps?

Who are the best comedy duo/comedian ever?

Best comedy duos include Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello, or Lewis and Martin. Harvey Korman and Tim Conway were my favorite. Best comedian has usually been regarded was Groucho Marx. By the way, George and Gracie Burns was the best married comedy couple.

Who are some public figure duos (e.g. Penn and Teller) who work closely together on camera but don't get along in real life?

I would offer some oldies who are no longer living.Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.Abbott and Costello. Finally, and this is the one I found most troubling (because I didn't care about the others, to be honest), Bill Murray and Harold Ramis. They had some kind of falling out which lasted for years. This is what cost us a Ghostbusters 3 (as opposed to a reboot which wasn't terribly well received by audiences). But it wasn't just that. Folks my age only care about Ghostbusters, ignoring their other collaborations like Stripes, Groundhog Day, etc. I am saddened by what we lost when they couldn't get along for nearly two decades.

Can you provide examples of great partnerships, or collaborations in history?

Bob Hope and Bing Crosby.

George Burns and Gracie Allen.

Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.

Lewis B."Chesty" Puller and the U.S. Marine Corps.

Jim Morrison and The Doors.

Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson.

Just a few that come to my mind....

All the best,
Gerry D.

What are the most memorable FRIENDS quotes?

My all-time favorite episode is S02E06 "The One with the Baby on the Bus". This has two great comedic exchanges, up there with classic comedy duos like Abbott & Costello, Martin & Lewis, and Hope & Crosby. The first was in the beginning of the episode. Monica, Ross, Chandler & Joey discover that Monica makes Ross' son cry just being near her. Chandler haolds a basketball and moves it toward, then away from Monica, making fake baby crying noises when the ball is next to her, and silence when the ball is away from her. Monica yanks the ball away and throws it, and it goes out the window, and gets run over by a garbage truck. This is just the setup. a couple of lines later, as they're setting up the plot, Chandler is asked what he's doing that day. He says, perfectly deadpan, "Well, Joey and I were going to go shoot hoops... But that's out the window."Later, after agreeing to watch Ross' son, they leave him behind on a bus because they were distracted by flirting with some pretty girls. They go to the Metro Authority office to pick up the baby. In the nursery, they discover two babies that were identical, except for their T-shirts. One had ducks and one had clowns. After some back-and-forth about how to decide/figure out which one is the right baby, (and coming up with a coin toss) we get this exchange:CHANDLER: "OK, I'll flip it. You call it in the air." JOEY: "Heads!"CHANDLER: "It's heads." "We have to assign 'Heads' to something."JOEY: "Oh, right." "How about 'Ducks is heads, ... because - ducks have heads."CHANDLER: "What kind of scary-ass clowns did you have at your birthday parties?"

Teams and Teamwork: What non-fictional duos are considered legendary?

Off the top of my head, the following came to mind:Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David (created “Seinfeld (TV series),” one of the most successful comedy shows ever).Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen (were the cornerstone of six NBA championships – two three-peats – during the 1990s; Jordan is arguably the greatest basketball to have played the game).Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak (founded Apple - then Apple Computer – one of the largest, most influential, and most successful companies of all-time).Paul McCartney and John Lennon (this song-writing duo led The Beatles (band), who many consider the greatest band ever). Larry Page and Sergey Brin (who hasn’t heard of Google (company)?)

What are some dynamic duo's that I could dress up as?

Sounds like fun! Okay, some duos that first come to mind are couples: Romeo and Juliet; Bonnie and Clyde; Sonny and Cher.

However, if one of you doesn't want to dress like a guy, some girl options are: Daphne and Velma; Xena and Gabrielle (correct hair colors); Thelma and Louise; Lucy and Ethel.

Hope this helps!
