Whats so bad about Fidel Castro?
I watched a film about him, and he seems like he really helped Cuba... He freed the Cubans from dictator Batista... And everytime I mention him doing so I get critisized and called a communist. I'm not a communist nor do I supoort it but my teacher gasped when I told her I wanted to research Fidel Castro and I didnt understand why.

Castro is Jesus and he has returned. God bless Castro. This man overcame all obstacles in life. And, overcame 10 Nazi Tyrants who tried boycotting and failed. The same Nazi Tyrants tried assassinating him, and failed. You cannot assassinate Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior when he returns. And, Castro is Jesus Christ in every which way and form. And, he looks like blessed Jesus.

Here's the deal- he will be remembered as a failed leader that once attempted to establish a socialist government in the western hemisphere that created so much hardship on the Cuban people that they tried non stop to make it to the U.S. That is exactly how the U.S.government wants the world to remember him- he had the audacity to form a competing form of government that was a direct opposite of capitalism right next door to U.S. This was something that the U.S could not possibly let succeed. They established an embargo that to date is still in effect. It is the worlds longest running embargo.It was also very successful. The Cuban people are the poorest people in the hemisphere , thanks to the embargo. We did not hurt Castro, but rather the Cuban people that were innocent bystanders in all this. But a nation that is built on capitalism, cannot let a nation that is built on socialism succeed. In most cases that the socialist nation was successful, the surrounding countries soon become socialist nations themselves. However the free economy (Capitalism) nations have now won out over the ideals of the Utopian society and socialism is now dead. History repeats itself, so the U.S will always be at odds with the socialist type countries. Hugo Chavez and Venezuela are the next perceived threats to the U.S. form of capitalism , And you are already hearing rumours about the U.S. plotting to over throw Chavez- It's only a matter of time until it happens- the U.S. has too much on it's plate right now to take care of it immediately.

First of all, I don't go to public school, secondly, you can't find a single article about him that isn't propaganda, third, I do believe his intentions were good, and lastly if you're going to tell me I'm stupid or whatever, you may as well **** off, cause that's certainly not answering my question. You're wasting your breath and my time.

Castro is not the enemy. Cuba has free education and free medical care. The reason Cuba is not doing well is because of the US embargo. Cuba believes in comunism and the economy means that everyone works and it benefits everyone. No one makes more money than the other which is the opposite of the US capitalism. Castro delivered the Cuban people from worse conditions that was going on in the 1950's. Other countries are communist and I dont see the US putting embargoes on them. The reason they did that is because they are mad Casto successfully ousted the cuban president that was US backed. I think this embargo is the stupidest thing ever, and for them to be still able to keep their country going is amazing. The best doctors in the world are cuban. Only reason bad things are said is cuz we only listen to negativity. I suggest to read the history books.
Fidel Castro good or bad?
I know Castro is a very controversial person but I don`t really get what he did wrong, I mean sure in today`s media like COD: black ops and movies they show him in a negative way but really his revolution helped Cuba. The Americans were pissed that Batista was being overthrown because he was with them but Batista was a tyrant. Plus health care and education is free in Cuba. I even got the chance to meet Castro before and he in no way is a bad guy. I know many Cubans in Cuba and out of Cuba who are happy with Castro. So what did he do wrong

Very Nice! My grandpa is Cuban, and he told me some good things as well, and bad things. Just need a little more info please. I checked some other websites... They said nothing of what Dee said. Seems that their is some rivalry going on. I just need straight facts. I have nothing towards Cubans. "Like I explained." "My grandpa is Cuban." So please, I need right answers.
