What Did You Think Of The Gramys

Do you think Cardi B should win a Grammy?

No

Did you watch the Grammy's? If so, what did you think?

yes I didNot to sound racist but the grammy’s is where all the black folks are and the oscars are where all the white folks are ;-)other than that I enjoyed Elton and Miley and Lady Gaga, Good for Bruno Mars he’s great and Alyssia from Canada :-) Liked the supportive ending with U2 and the thumbs down to trump with the reading of the statue of liberty :-) The memorium had me sad we’ve lost so many last year - was kinda disappointed they didn’t mention the K pop boy from SHINee that died, but that’s a different genre and they don’t include it … yet

Do you think the Grammy Awards are rigged?

I completely agree. I was sickened by the winners. I hadn't even heard of alot of them. Like the group who won best album "the Suburbs????" who the F*** are they? And how in the hell did they beat out Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, Lany Antebellum., and Eminem? RIGGED!!!

What do you think about BTS winning a Grammy?

I highly doubt they will. Now, before burning me, hear me out first! I am not debating whether they are deserving of it or not. I will just lay facts as I see it in the music scene.Grammy hates granting any award for any boy bands! Before 1D became 5D, they were not awarding anything nor were they even nominated. You can go back through history and you will notice the extremely rare occasion that any award goes to any bands, boy or girl. They much prefer the awards to go to solo artist. In their thinking, a boy band is just a group in trend, last at most a season (in most cases, 3 years before they fade from stardom). I understand that ARMY does not want to recognize this fact but BTS is just a group in trend right now in the music scene. They have the allure of being the first of many things and the mysteriousness of being a group from another cultural and language entertainment industry. Given another year or a few more years, another boy band will displace them in US because the trend changes. A couple more, even if BTS will not be disbanded, they will (I hope) go into solo practices. Please remember that individual member is more than BTS, they have their own lives, dreams, ambition and talents. Grammy will think that such award to BTS is a waste as how certain can they be that BTS will still be here in the next few years. This is just the way things are; nothing to do with their musics at all.I have read a couple of answers from other quorans. While I empathized with them regarding their love for BTS, please regard their music objectively. I, myself, am a fan of BTS since 2014, I still don’t think they are at the level that Grammy would be impressed enough with them. From those of you who mentioned they can dance, please note that Grammy is an award for music; not dance. If we are going by popularity, please realize that this is not a Top Social Artist Award (a popularity contest); this is a music award. With all that said, it is still possible that they will a Grammy for their individual activities in the future, as of now, I will be surprised if they do.Peace!

Do you think the Grammys overlook a lot of artists?

The Grammys are very conservative, so sometimes they will overlook artists but that doesn’t mean they underestimate people who aren’t as big as often Billboard chart artist, like Drake. For example Brandi Cartile was nominated for many big awards this year (2019), like Record of Year and Album of the Year, and yet not a lot of people know her and her most popular song is The Joke, which is only 1.7M views on Youtube. I haven’t listened to any of songs but she has peaked high Billboard 200 once and multiple times in Billboard genres her music is in. She is big mostly in Rock and Folk and has been recognized by big people like former President Barack Obama. She definitely has done big things. But she has been nominated before, which she didn’t win, so she is definitely known by Grammys critics. (I would recommend you to check her out because she seems like a cool person with an amazing story and talented.)Sometimes the Grammys will actually acknowledge different artists because of their success, like Cardi B, and nominate them for the quality of their music. (I’m not a Cardi fan, but her music is not all trash.)I haven’t seen the Grammys overlook a lot because I have recently actually observed the Grammys. My example of overlooked artist, is BTS. In my opinion they deserved Best Duo/Group Performance because they have not only been successful around the world, but their music quality is great*. (They did get nominated for Best Record Package, so I hope next 2020 they get recognized)*Before anyone comes at me about BTS having great music, do a thorough research of their music. When I say thorough research, I mean check the lyrics and production(sound engineering and etc) and not just listen to it. You don’t have to like it but definitely having knowledge about it

Do you think Katy Perry deserves a Grammy?

To me, I think it's surprising she hasn't received a Grammy yet. Don't get me wrong, I know that Grammys aren't that important, but as music's "biggest honour", I'm somewhat shocked Katy hasn't gotten one yet. She's been nominated for 8 in the past 3 years, and she didn't get any for her Teenage Dream album era, which was a bit shocking. Whether you're a fan of her or not, she has broken ground in the music industry, such as when she tied Michael Jackson's record. So, do you think that one day Katy Perry will get one?

What do you think of Kacey Musgraves' Grammy wins?

I think Golden hour is a great album, worth listening. In the era that hiphop is the mainstream, it’s unbelievable that a country album won the biggest award.
