What Do Graduates Do With Their Caps Afterwards

Is it weird if I decorate my graduation cap as a masters degree graduate?

The cap looks the same as undergrad caps and I know it's common for bachelor degree graduates to decorate their caps. I'm just wondering if I can do that as a masters degree graduate too. I just want to write a word on it.

Graduation cap with bangs?

You shouldn't need to worry about your bangs with the cap much. You only wear it for a few minutes. If you get the cap ahead of time, you could try different ways of styling your hair and wearing it to see what works best. Obviously that doesn't help if you get it on the day of graduation (like it was for me) and don't have time to prepare. Maybe tip it back a bit so it's not compressing your bangs to your forehead and bring a small comb with you so that you can tidy your hair up after the cap is gone.

For jewelry, I would recommend something small and delicate and either white or silver. Necklaces that are too big, long, or clunky tend to look sort of "witchy" especially with a black graduation gown. I would focus more on bracelets. I don't own pearls, so I'm not sure how they would look, but I think it would depend on the size of the pearls. I wouldn't have any low-hanging necklaces that would make you stand out too much.. Really I think the point of matching graduation gowns is conformity and anything that really stands out too much might make you look "overdone" or something from the audience's point of view.

What is the string on the top of a graduates hat?

It's called a graduation cap tassel. You have it on one side of your hat and when you are considered graduates, you are asked to move it to the other side signifying that you've graduated.

Does short hair look weird with a graduation cap?

for my senior prom i kept my hair long in case i wanted the salon to curl my hair/do long hairstyles

then the day after prom i cut my hair into almosttt a bob and straight bangs and i looked pretty good during graduation (which was about two weeks after prom) lol. i think bangs look nice in a cap bc if you don't have bangs, it just looks like your forehead was cut off or something.

i say keep it long for prom just in case. but chop it off for graduation if you want :]

it also gives you that fresh "i'm-graduating-and-going-to-college" look haha

How does graduation day work?

i'm graduating high school next year and i'm just curious. do you come in your normal clothes and change into a cap & gown later? how does the whole day plan out? thanks((::::

I have used 2 years of my H1B and I am going to graduate school with an F-1 visa. After I graduate, can I resume my H1B status?

Disclaimer: I am not a lawyerAs long as you get a sponsor for your H1B before 6 calendar years of your H1B initial approval (assuming it was subject to the cap, so 6 years after you got through the H1B lottery), they can apply for your H1B without waiting for the cap, at any time of the year, what usually is called “H1B transfer”.If your former employer is willing to hire you again, you may even not need a new visa, but probably a renewal. Consult a lawyer in any case.If you finish graduate school later than 6 years of your initial H1B approval, you can still get an H1B, but the sponsor company would have to apply early as it would take at least 6 months, and most probably be subject to the lottery.

When you throw your graduation cap, do you seek to find your own again, or take someone else's?

Just grab a hat -- any hat will do. If it is a rental, then just turn the cap and gown in for credit. If it was purchased, then just keep the cap and gown as a momento. Nobody wears their cap and gown after graduation, except maybe as a halloween costume.

I graduated from high school back in the '70's, we threw our caps into the air. No sense trying to find our own caps, we just grabbed one that was close, then returned for credit (they were rentals). But, I did retrieve the tassel.
