What Do I Do For College

What do hens study in college?

eggonomics =]

How can I do to still get in good college?

im at a 3.0 gpa right now, and almost all college requirement is at 4.0 or highter. I wonder if I can still get in. im at 10th grade now I don't know what can I do. I am very frustrated. I trying to get A's but its too hard for me.

Do you get weekends off in college?

Classes usually meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday OR Tuesday and Thursday. You sign up for the classes you want to take.

In high school, you are in class about 30 hours a week. In college, you are in class about 16 hours a week and you cover twice as much material per semester as you do in high school.

You get to schedule your classes, studying, and free time. When doing so, keep in mind that most people who start college fail to finish.

What do I do if parents won’t pay for my college ?

Remember you do not have to declare a major until your sophomore year in most colleges. IMHO your parents have a very valid point.

STEM fields have the highest return on investment which is why your parents want you to do something besides studying Shakespeare. If you take a programming class in Python, Java or Perl you already qualify for a $65K entry level systems analyst/programmer position ANYWHERE.

College tuition is very expensive. I can't imagine my kids going to college to "Find themselves" for $76K a year! That is the equivalent of someone making $100K a year.

The starting salary for a junior systems admin right out of college is $65K-$75K a year with full benefits. There is a major shortage of employable people in IT, engineering and scientific fields.

However a great deal can be said for someone that can craft a well written letter, memo or proposal. You can minor in English and major in something else like CS or Biology. If you want to make money study Business, particularly the areas pertaining to real estate.

You can minor in history and english or study them OUTSIDE of school--it's called a library or GOOGLE. And that's much easier than studying something like chemistry where most people don't have access to a laboratory.

Do you have to apply to college every year?

Many people appy to several colleges and then select among those that accept them.

For that reason, a college may accept 100 students, but only 94 may actually decide to enroll.

As to your initial question, once a person applies to and is accepted by a college, that acceptance is good until graduation, with certain restrictions. For instance, a student has to maintain a certain grade average (not flunk out); the student may have to complete the program of study within a certain number or years (like if you attend a four-year college, you may have six or eight years to complete the program of study and get a degree -- this accommodates students who have to take time off to work or be home with kids or be caregivers to elderly parents, etc.); the student has to be in good standing regarding payments to the school of fees and tuition.

So long as those (and any other) restrictions are met, the student does not re-apply. However, let's say a student applies and enrolls, attends for two years and then drops out for six years. That student would have to re-apply for admission to come back.
