What should i wear with my purple plaid skirt?
A plain top in a neutral color--black or gray would be good, since they're in the colors of the skirt. White would work too. A simple v-neck cotton shirt or a normal t-shirt would work. Then some neutral, knitted tights and cute boots for fall and winter (with maybe a long cardigan and/or scarf to keep you warm), leggings and flats for spring, and bare legs with flats or sandals for warmer weather. If punk or goth isn't your thing you might want to avoid wearing black with it--pleated plaid skirts and purple are popular among the alternative crowd. We have a school dance that is semi-formal (no t-shirts, jeans, gym shoes, joggers, windbreakers) and themed 90's. I'm not exactly sure as of what to wear because what I was planning on wearing is not allowed at the dance...anyway, any ideas? I'm definitely wearing my leather jacket but i don't know anything else: shoes, dress, accessories, hair...thanks!

Gray...Light to medium. Beige or khaki. Blue or navy...providing there is some definite contrast, between the different colors. I like my first two suggestions. There is always someone who will try to half-way match the top with the skirt, the sweater with the skirt and missing the match, by a tone or two and washing it out.
