Well, you know what a cliche is, right? It's something that's been said over and over by so many people that it's sort of lost its meaning. For instance: "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." Yeah yeah yeah, we've all heard that before. It's a cliche. A TWISTED cliche is where you take the BEGINNING of some cliche like that and then change the ending so that it becomes unexpected and (hopefully) humorous. For example: "An apple a day still can't beat pizza." Something like that. Upon hearing the beginning of it, the listener will EXPECT you to say "...keeps the doctor away", but will then be surprised at the different ending. Twisted cliche!
