Well... an ounce of prevention may be the key! Is your house equipped with smoke detectors? Early detection means an early escape and hopefully you wouldn't have to worry about going out the window. The best system is a series of interconnected detectors, so if one goes off, they all go off. Wouldn't it be better for your dog's sake to NOT have them sleep on the 2nd floor? If thier beds are placed near a back or side room on the ground floor, then, in the event of a fire, you escape however you can and then open (smash if necessary) the door or windows adjacent to where the dogs are sleeping? (Just a suggestion, I know alot of people who are VERY attached to thier pets and couldn't imagine sleeping without them.) Okay, now I am going to get creative... obviously a "fire escape" or deck on the side of the house would be a major investment and undertaking. Certainly that would solve the dilemma. But could we come up with something else? Do you have any old sheets? How about this... sew them together so they would be long enough to angle away from the house. Then get some nylon rope and run it from your window, out to the steaks and back again. You can let the rope lay slack to the ground if you want so they aren't as visible. Find a secure way to attach one end of the ropes to your sheets. Attach the other end of the sheets to inside a small "escape box" you build by your escape window. Then, if you ever needed to... within about a minute... INSTANT SLIDE. Now the trick is getting the dogs to use it in an emergency. Maybe some training and drills? Hmmm, I wonder how safe this insane plan is? I would test it with something first. Well... it's just my weird brain at work. Maybe someone else will come up with something better. First, you must deafeat the Elite 4 and complete the Sinnoh pokedex and get to the island. At first there is your rival and a guy with red hair that talks to you if you talk to your rival. WARNING: BEFORE YOU GO ANY FARTHER, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A LOT OF SUER REPELS (if you dont want to battle a lot of pokemon) AND AN ESCAPE ROPE. ALSO PUT YOUR STRONGEST LEVEL POKEMON FIRST BECAUSE REPELS DONT WORK ON POKEMON JUST AS STRONG OR STRONGER THAN YOUR FIRST ONE. IN THIS CAVE THE POKEMON ARE LEVELS 55-59. Anyways, get to the Survival Area and go to Stark Mountain (route 227). (if you havent gotten there, there are some weird rocks next to the mountain in which you need to jump over them using you faster gear of your bike) Go inside the mountain and get past the first little part of the mountain (you will need the HMs rock smash and strength). Then there should be an entrace with your rival standing right there. Dont worry, you wont battle him. Just talk to him and then go through the entrance. At first there is a path, at the end the guy with the red hair is there. Talk to him (no you dont battle) and he will follow you around and be your "partner" for a bit so you can guide him (supposedly) to a small cave at the end where he gets a gem or somthing (i kind of forgot what it was... but its not important... trust me). You can use Rock Climb there, but since you have him with you, you cant use it so you have to take the long way yeah it stinks. Then once you get there, the guy takes whatever it is that he wants, and leaves you. Go out of the cave (use your escape rope) and go back to the Survival Area (i think its the Survival Area, if not, try the Battle Area but im 95% sure that its the Survival Area) and find the house with the red haired guy in it. Talk to him. He will leave (i think its been a while since ive done this, sorry). You have to go back to Stark Mountain and do the WHOLE thing OVER AGAIN. UGH. howerver, it will be faster because you can use rock climb which is like taking short-cuts. Anyways, go back to the little cave at the end, and where the little thing the red haired guy wanted, will be Heatran. He is level 70. His attacks are scary face, lava plume, fire spin, and iron head. He is Fire/Steel. For me, amazingly, i caught him in 3 tries with an Ultra Ball. I was lucky.
