How did you feel after reading a poem?

It does depend one which poem and sometimes even which poet. But for me I feel this sense of fulfillment. Like each word, sentence, paragraph has a meaning and is patientyly waiting for a reader to come along and latch on to it and to understand or even relate. We all feel different emotions while reading, some may even block emotions like for example in my school we study poetry. sadly it is ony poems from Irish poets…there is so many other poets from all over the world that are amazing!!! and should be read. I always notice each time we read a poem for the first time every single person in the class reacts differently. I thought it was because some are bored, some hate the subject some dislike the teacher but NO! I believe everyone reacts differently because in a poem, each word not always but most of the time, triggers a thought, a memory, an emotion it opens us and forces us to feel but this feeling only lasting a breathe and can be blown by blindness, bordem, dislike, disinterest or simply indenial of such power poetry can have over our feelings!

How do you read a poem aloud?

Get a feel for the meaning of the poem. Try to express it with your voice. Think about words that are important. Emphasize them by changing your volume and/or speed. Facial expressions can be distracting, but you can use your voice to portray emotions. It all depends on the poem.

How do you feel about reading and writing poetry?

I love writing it when I don't have to for school or something, because it is just really gratifying and a great way to reflect on how I feel about a book, a situation, a world problem or a song. I don't like reading it as much but I always find it interesting to see different creative and stylistic devices used interestingly. Hope this helps you out :)

What do you indersand when you read this poem by Rumi?

rumi is one of my favorites...this is part of what i get from it...

love is a demanding, overt thing...and it is an argument...with yourself and your lover...an argument because you are desiring love and afraid of love in the same breath...an argument because you and your lover are different and are trying to become more like one within each other...

"the door there is devastation"...the entry way to love is passed through by holding yourself open to great risk...risk of rejection, risk of failure...risk of "falling"...and that can be devastating...

the circles indicates the great joy and pride of the birds in achieving love...oh yes...there is pride in love...pride in your lover...pride that someone you love so deeply could return that love to you...and freedom...the kind of freedom you find when tightly held in the arms of love...that is harder to put into words, but once you feel it, you will understand it...

the last line says it all..the only way to get to be able to join that great circling is to fly...to love...so they jump or fall out of the nest..and falling is frightening...it is out of control...and they don't know if they can do it...but birds only learn to fly by falling first...

some people now days say love is just chemicals in our brains and bodies...it may be...but it is also a great falling and flying and a great sky-circle of freedom...

How does it feel when someone writes a poem for you?

I don't know how it feels when someone writes a poem for you.And this is because no one had ever written a poem for me.But yes I've written many poems for someone I like and someone my friend likes.I still remember the day when one of my friend came to me and said “Bhai ek poem likh de apni bhabhi ke liye” (Brother please write a poem for my girlfriend ). On that day I wrote a poem for someone whom I don't know. But yes it was an amazing experience, writing for someone whom you’d never seen in face to face or other than the photographs. But yes I can guess how someone feels,One feels special. One feels how the other person is connected to you.It cause butterflies in your stomach. It feels out of the world.I'm attaching few of my poems.Attached a few for you, but there is much more to go :)Sorry I didn't found thatpoem which I've written for my “Bhabhi” .But I'll attach it as soon as I find it :)You can also catch me on Instagram.S U M I T S I N G H Y A D AV (@a.musing.bard) • Instagram photos and videosThank You :)

Why do I cry just by reading a poem?

Thanks for the A2A.Just by crying you have absorbed the emotions the poet has embedded in the poem. This is the ultimate aim of the poet.Writing poems is an art and the finest in the language. Poets have an enormous skill to use the least number of words with the greatest content of emotion and meaning. Every poet writes from deep inside of themselves They see the world in writing techniques that crystallise thought into perfect harmony. What you feel is what you yourself can write. What you see is a multi-dimensional meaning that reaches deep inside of your understanding.I suggest you take up writing too. You have it in you to feel the words of the poem just as you understand its deeper meanings.Enjoy your day Dominic. You rock.
