What Do You Like Or Dislike Most About Your Job

What do you like or dislike about your present job?

Hi,I m currently working in a MNC.I started my career as Mobile Application Developer.Likes:I thought i wasn’t meant to be a techie but Android proved me wrong. It was Challenging as well as interesting to develop mobile application.I love my work culture in my office. There was a perfect work-life balance. Like the other IT jobs i never had stress while workingThe best thing about my job is flexibility. I was given the liberty to work in my own time scheduleMy job gave me an opportunity to meet people with different social background. I got to learn few other languages as well.Dislikes:It is the problem with all MNCs. Though I was trained in one of the good domain,I was on bench for a long time. My first project came only after 2 years of joining. I don’t recommend freshers to join MNCs because if you are unlucky like me you will end up wasting the precious time which could mould the beginning days of your career.I don’t find any career growth here.If you are a nerd techie who works for hours, you are sure to see the growth in your tummyProblem with hierarchy. Your questions goes unanswered either because you don’t get to know who to ask or because each one keep pointing the other to answer you.At the end you will find yourself being a slave for money. This realisation comes after 15 to 20 years of being in IT field.

What do you most like and dislike about your life?

LIKES: My lovely friends, I am so lucky in this respect. I count my blessings very often. I was crying with laughter last night whilst enjoying cheap Spanish beer in Madrid; I can't think of anything better than that. Laughing with friends is the best. I like being tall, it does have it's downsides but they are far outweighed by the positives.I like that I have the latest Jack Reacher novel on my coffee table and the rest of the week off work to enjoy reading it.DISLIKES: I dislike being single, I dislike the lack of intimacy in my life as a result. I dislike not having sex on a regular basis.I dislike having repeated problems with my back and neck. I have it fairly under control at the moment but it is still a regular annoyance. Literally a pain in the neck! I dislike Man City's inability to perform away from home. It's psychological, get somebody in to sort it out!! I dislike not having my dad around to share my life with. I dislike having money worries.

Teachers: what do you like/dislike about your job?

I taught 4th grade for seven years. I loved teaching my students and seeing them learn while they were having fun. I loved planning creative lessons, and watching how my students would change, grow, and accomplish so much in a year. If I could have been left alone with my students it would have been great!

That brings me to my dislikes. There is a ton of paperwork, meetings, and other jobs that must get done and given to the administration. With most states having standardized testing there is always some kind of paperwork that needs to be completed that takes time away from your class. There's a lot of red tape to get the least littlest thing accomplished, and there is a lot of pressure to "teach to the test" so test scores improve or remain high. Unless you want to become an administrator there is little room for career advancement, and the pay is low compared to other jobs that you can get with a college degree. And last, but not least, with parents wanting their children to always be the best you will always have at least one parent who is a royal pain, because their child isn't perfect.

With that being said, I left teaching to start a family, not because I didn't like my job. You just have to love what you're doing and not expect a lot of rewards beyond knowing that you are helping your students and you're an integral part of their lives.

What do you like most and dislike about teaching?

I teach second grade.

Likes:
- when the kids finally understand and retain the skill i've taught.

- conversing with the children. their energy and innocence keeps me energized.

- knowing that i am making a positive impact on a child's life.

- being off during the summer and other holidays.

Dislikes:

- i get sick a lot because the kids don't practice good hygiene like adults (ie: covering mouth and nose when sneezing and coughing) so my classroom is very germy.

- grading papers (yuck!)

- when other teachers and coordinators disturb me during my planning period (ie: when i'm reading reading over my lesson plas during my lunch break and the reading coordinator pops in my classroom to tell me that I need to administer SRI exams and incorporate MSA prep into our reading period, etc.)

- dealing with parents. they only contact you when they want something or want to accuse you of something. few ever compliment or thank you for teaching their child.

What do you dislike most about your career?

My Manager, He is a psycho who keeps hyping things and creating illusion to the management. He is a person who creates a problem when there ain’t one and he is the one who blows the problem to such an extent that people believe that there really is a problem and it has no solution and finally, after creating the hype and making the people run around him, at last, he announces a solution and all the people bogged by the problem are so relieved that that the problem is solved that they dare not ask how the problem has been resolved but are happy that the problem is finally resolved. All in all, he is the Brahma, Vishnu & Maheshwara of our organization. The creator of the problem(Brahma), The sustenance of the problem (Vishnu) and the destroyer o f the problem (Shiva), and he gets promoted too…..He thrives on confusion and this has affected my working ability to a very great extent

What do you like best, or dislike the most about your home?

I like quite a few things about my home.I like its location. No one lives across the street and my block is very private. Yet, I live less than 10 minutes from the largest shopping mall in the country and 12 miles from a large city.I like its size. I wanted a house that was 1500 square feet, and my house is 1499 square feet. It also has a finished basement that is about 1000 square feet.It has 3 bedrooms, which is exactly what I wanted. It has hardwood and tiled floors. Great for dogs. I have very few area rugs. Given how much one of my dogs sheds, this is critical.I have a surprisingly large yard for where I live. It is nicely fenced in and divided into two parts. Great for dogs.I enjoy its layout. I have a long hallway that is perfect for playing fetch with the dogs. Many a child has enjoyed running up and down that hall with the dogs. The kitchen is small but well designed. I didn’t like a few things about it when I moved in, but I have fixed them.It is extremely quiet. When I shut the windows I really cannot hear much outside. Especially in the back of the house. It is an old, lath plaster house with masonry and stucco on the outside. It was built back in the 30s. They do not make them like this anymore. The main thing I do not like is that the laundry is in the basement. I may bring it upstairs and put it in a small front room one of these days. But it will be costly. Also, right now, I need to repair the tub in my bathroom. Since the bathroom is tile, it won’t be inexpensive to have the darn thing ripped out and replaced. I’m fixing that in the next few months.Really I like almost everything. What I like most is that when people walk into it, they invariably comment on how peaceful it feels. This is both because of how I have decorated it and its underlying feeling. Houses definitely have a feeling to them, you know? My folks moved a lot, and so we went house hunting a lot. Some houses felt welcoming like they could be a home. Others, not so much. This house feels welcoming. That is why I bought it.

What do you like or dislike most about your hometown?

I like that it has sooo many memories, that I can see at each and every turn. I dislike that it is no longer as quaint as it once was, and is becoming less with each passing day.
