I actually really love the Dragonball series. I look at it for how great it was for it's time. It's a wonderful classic and I never like to compare it to new anime since it's just not fair to do that. Everyone has their own opinion though.

Also Inuyasha no longer just cuts off, they have finally completed the series with an actual ending in Inuyasha: The Final Act.

Hope I helped some. :)

What do you think about anime?

Since he was young, my boyfriend has loved anime - even now he watches lots of it, both old and new series. He's extremely passionate about it.

I was never exposed to anime until meeting him and I'm finding it hard to get into. He's exposed me to several different series, including Naruto and Bleach, and I'm getting the impression that it's overly pervasive and childish. There seems to be no real plot, aside from some relationship-based drama, and the rest is anime girls in slutty outfits flaunting their giant breasts.

As far as entertainment goes, I don't enjoy shows that are largely based in relationship drama - it bores me and I think it's a waste of time.

So, what do YOU think anime is? Do you think anime can be intellectually stimulating? Should I give anime another shot, or should he grow up and leave the childishness behind?

Where can I a thinking man's anime?

I'm looking for anime that makes you think. I've seen anime like Haibane Renmei, Ghost in the Shell, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Death Note and I loved them all because they pose you with difficult questions that you have to answer for yourself. I don't mind watching action and blood and guts so long as it also makes you think about something. I'm looking for names of anything like this, movies, ova, TV series, even manga so long as it's available in english dub.

Batman: The Animated Series or The New Batman Adventures?

I want to start watching the old Batman cartoons, because my mom didn't let me as a kid and, even in college, I still want to. Is "The New Batman Adventures" a good place to start? Or should I start with "Batman: The Animated Series"?
I really don't know much background about the Batman story, so any help understanding where I should start and why is great.
Also, if you know any websites where I can watch the episodes, that would be great, too!

Thanks :)

What do you call the person that makes there own Anime Series?

A Producer.

A 'manga-ka' is the japanese word for someone who draws manga, but that's not what you're looking for. Because almost every anime is based on an already existing manga, the person who oversees the acquisition of the story from the license holder & then assembles the team that creates the animation is the Producer.

(Or... if you're asking what the person is called who actually goes in and draws & assembles the individual cels, then those are the Animators).

Good luck!

What is your opinion on anime?

What is my opinion on anime? Neutral or indifferent.Despite my credential, I only love very specific anime like JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Kill la Kill, or Puella Magi Madoka Magica. When it comes to anime in general, I just see it as a way an entire culture does their own take on art.And like most cultures, though the culture in general forms the bare spine in these pieces of art, they have individuals who have their own unique vision on how to create art.Unlike most cultures though, Japanese animation feels hard to get into. They always seem to either run for 13 to 24 episodes or entire years worth of seasons. There’s usually some form of cliche archetypes like the fiery-headed boy or tsundere.Even the voice acting (both subbed and dubbed) seems off; not by any means bad, no, but just not quite the same as performances seen in western products like Regular Show or The Cornetto Trilogy. As a filthy westerner, the things that appeal to me are cartoons like Regular Show, the first three seasons of Spongebob, and Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003) as well as films like The Thing (1982), Hot Fuzz, and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.Whenever I see anime, there’s a bit of culture shock and as such, the only ways for me to try watching an anime that I’ve never seen before are:Watching said anime in the school’s anime clubBeing genuinely interested in the show’s concept and be willing to take the time to try it outBeing convinced by someone who’s really good at persuasionDon’t let my lack of preference of anime fool you.I like it and I genuinely believe it’s just as valid an art form as western cartoons and media are.But the thing, in general, isn’t something for me.There are some anime that seem tailor-made for my tastes like JoJo, but anime overall is for a fandom and community that I don’t consider myself a part of; a tourist at best, a stranger at worst.

What do you think about the new Marvel’s Spider-Man cartoon for 2017?

I wouldn’t watch it.I know I’m not in the demographics of this new show, so it’s fine I guess. I miss the 90s Spider-Man cartoon. It is the best Spider-Man adaptation ever and the animation is still cool today.I watched the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon (the Web Warriors season) and I don’t think it was bad, but I think the humor was forced sometimes, and it looked like the Teen Titans cartoon. I think this new cartoon is mostly the same as Ultimate Spider-Man.Searching about this new series I saw one of the producers was an Avengers Assemble producer... I still miss Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
