Since my name is Elizabeth, I'm very partial to it. Alice is beautiful. I like names that you can see for both a little baby and an 80 year old woman and this name is one of those that work perfectly no matter the age. Not faddish, but not like a Madison or Olivia or Sophia or Isabella, etc. that your daughter will end up having a bazillion of in her class when she starts school. So I say go for it!!!
Which girl name, Alice or Violet?
I love both but Alice has special meaning to me as I knew an old woman by this name and even though she was super annoying I really loved her. It makes me think of a strong, independent woman who can do anything she sets her mind to. Violet is pretty, but all my associations with the name are purely from television. Hope this helps :)

I think I'm seriously in love with Mary Alice as a double first name.
