What Do You Think Of This Story Opening

What's a good opening line for a story...?

Well... I am a writer myself but all I can say is that it depends on what you are wanting to write about; What genre.
Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Action, Mystery, Love, ect.
What are you most interested in?
That is what you might want to start with.
See, personally, I am a Sci-Fi/Fantasy freak... therefore, I wrote a Star Wars novel... lol and when I was done with that, a Fantasy.
First lets define type. :)

Help! Can someone think of an opening sentence to my story?

I was happily paddling in the clear, sparkling water unaware of the cruel mistress it beholds. It was a warm day, only a few clouds in the sky, perfect for a day out at the beech, it was a busy beech but the true bueaty of which it beheld was breathtaking. There wasn't any time for anyone to really sit and admire the vast beach as the fight for a decent shelter from the strong wind continued well past midday.

If you were to write a ghost story, what would be the opening sentence?

Some people say I don't exist.

or

Seeing a dead man standing beside his own tombstone might give you the curious idea that your day will be anything but normal.

or

Trying to talk to a ghost is a frustrating experience.

or

Take my advice, when people swear that your house is haunted, believe them.

or

Fools will tell you that things you can't see, don't exist.

or

All seemed normal by day, but then came the night.

or

It looked like such an ordinary house; it wasn't.

or

Nightmares are supposed to come while you sleep.

or

I was much too intelligent to believe the warning.

or

How was I to know?

or

Hindsight comes too late.

I'm not sure my answers would make people want to keep reading the book, but it was a fun question.

How to describe opening eyes in a story?

There she laid on the unfamiliar ground, shacking from the cold air grasping her entire body. She wanted to scream for help but she knew that would make him only come back. Her eyes were tightened shut, it was only a dream she thought and any moment now she'd wake up and as time passed the hungering cold leeched the warmth from her, she realized it was no dream. Choking back her tears, she opened her eyes and all around her was an utter darkness.

something like that i hope?

How do I write a good opening line to a story or novel?

The first line of a novel is often the most difficult to write, because we always want to get it perfectly right. That said, I wouldn’t focus so much on the first line than on the first paragraph. Rather than the words you use to open your story, think about how and where you want to start it.There are several ways that have proven effective to draw readers in. I’m listing some of them below, but you can easily find more on blog posts like this one, or by analyzing how some of your favourite books in your genre tend to start.Start with actionNow, be careful with that one. You don’t want to open your novel with a huge BANG, because, well, that’s a trifle overdone already… However, depending on your genre, it can be pretty easy to draw the reader in by opening with an action scene. Lord of the Flies is a good example of this.If you go for this, make sure that you don’t sacrifice characterization and setting altogether in the first few pages, since it might irritate readers to enter into an action scene they know nothing about.Start with brevityIf you’re really stuck on your opening line, try to think of something really short to open your novel with. Let me take an example: “In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit.” This short, snappy format can work particularly well if you’re looking to open your novel by setting your fictional world. It piques the reader’s curiosity enough to keep reading and understand what a hobbit is and why they live in a hole.Start with something totally unexpectedThat’s my favorite one, because it’s the best way to really get the reader to read, at least, the first few pages. You’ll find a bunch of literary examples to illustrate this, but the most famous one is probably:“It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen.” – George Orwell, Nineteen Eighty-FourThis is perfect if you’re writing dystopian fiction, or even if you have anything “out of the norm” in your book. This goes a bit against my earlier advice of looking at other books in your genre, because here the aim is to create something totally unheard of so far. Think of what your readers might expect as an opening for your book, and go in the opposite direction. Of course, don’t keep that for too long, as you might disappoint them!

Opening paragraph to a ghost story!!!?

"Aaaaaaahhhhhhh! What's that?????!!!!!"
"I don't know, but it'coming this way, fast!"
"Run!"
We bolted for the door, and both reached it at the same time. Shoulder to shoulder, we tried to push our way through, only to be blocked by our own mass.
"Get out of the way!" I screamed, and threw him aside.
He staggered and fell against the wall.
I was halfway down the hall when I heard him scream. I wasn't going to turn back. Faster, must run faster! There was an errie howl from behind me.

Are you planning to see Solo: A Star Wars Story movie on opening weekend? Why or why not?

Yes. Because I have loved this franchise my entire life (literally—my father took me to see the original Star Wars movie, before it was called A New Hope, during its original theatrical release when I was four years old) and since I survived the truly awful Star Wars Holiday Special the following year, and the entire prequel trilogy (“I hate sand”), I am certain I can survive whatever weird surprises this newest movie has to throw at me. Plus Donald Glover is awesome, and if anyone can play Young Lando in such a way as to make me believe that he grows up to become the great Billy Dee Williams, I feel certain he can.
