What Does He Mean By This I

What does he mean by what i have is yours?

William Shakespeare’s work has many famous quotes, some of which are used in marriage ceremonies, in tender trysts, and parodied on comedy shows. Consider this:

"What’s mine is yours, and what is yours is mine." (Act V, Scene I)

“Measure for Measure” is a difficult play, but if you’d like to get into it, Cliff Notes has a summary and analysis along with the original text: http://www.cliffsnotes.com/WileyCDA/LitNote/Measure-for-Measure-Summary-Analysis-and-Original-Text-by-Act-Act-V.id-74,pageNum-138.html

Usually what a person means by “you have me and what I have is yours also” is that you have access to them and to their worldly goods, therefore have faith in their commitment or other agreements with you. The fact that he added, "well, sort of" shows he realized the enormanty of what he just said and perhaps is conservatively hedging on that full access aspect (which can be wise). Such an answer, believe it or not, is a pretty fair (general) response to one who says they (only) want him. He’s responding in kind, acknowledging he's given the very thing for which you asked.

BTW – if you meant something else or need something else beyond generalities, articulate it.

What does he mean by this?
