I don't know. But I heard that if you have high medical bills that haven't been paid then you can get medicaid the Government funded Health Insurance. But I am just curious lets say you want to apply for Health Insurance and your monthly income is $1500(before taxe's). At the same time you have been getting treatment for a chronic disease lately and your medical bill comes out to lets say $50,000. What are the differences between medical and health insurance?

I dont exactly know what answer you are looking for. Still. There are two types of health insurance.(i) Where it is reimbursement of cost incurred. You get sick, get hospitalized, operated upon etc. This cost is to be borne by Insurer. It may be cashless. Health Insurer pays to Hospital( through TPA) directly, you just sign papers and come out of hospital. You may have a policy of 5 lakh Sum Insured, but if actual eligible expense is only 4 lakh, you get 4 lakh. If actual eligible expense is 8 lakh, you still get 5 lakhs only. This type of policy is sold by General Insurance Companies and stand alone health insurance companies.(ii) Other type of HI is where full Sum Assured is paid once the insured disease is diagnosed. No hospitalization is needed. Trigger point for payment of claim is diagnosis of a disease specified in the policy. Whether you spend 4 lakh or 8 lakh, you get 5 lakhs. You write to insurer with creditable proof that you are diagnosed with a disease specified in the policy, you get claim amount. Whether you go to hospital or not, does not matter. This type of product is sold by life insurers.I hope I have done justice to the opportunity I got.

In USA, what kind of health insurance covers 100% of medical services?

> What kind of insurance do I need to get to make sure I don’t get a crippling debt in case of, for example, cancer?Travel insurance. Since you are from a sane country that actually treats its citizens as human begins who can fall sick, you have the connections with local providers who know you and are willing to help you.Travel insurance will allow you to travel back to your home country at a moment's notice and get treated, even as a nonresident, for far less than the potential debt you can rack up with terrible things like cancer.Just look at the condescension in the single snarky answer to this question: How do I find a general physician in San Diego who is known for helping people? Now imagine what this person will do if you are in any state of emergency with absolutely no ability to negotiate.Compare that with a U.S. Citizen’s personal account of his experience with a very tough accident in Canada : Robin Dymond's answer to Why do many liberals think Obamacare is a success? The U.S. Hospitals have a strict “treat them once and haggle and harass them for life” policy. The U.S. has NO SUPPORT for the sick or disabled! That is unlike any other developed country in the world. The U.S. has no concept of "sick days". A few states had to do a lot of thinking before mandating 3 sick days a year.If you are seeking disability, you have to apply for it and wait for it (can take months to years for approval) and not work during the whole time. How Much People Pay for Health Care Around the WorldPricing in U.S. Healthcare is deplorable.First step to bankruptcy:Here is a statistic that compares costs:Here is a statistic that shows who gets a cut of those costs:The U.S. Healthcare is setup to extort the employed via "cost shifting" because the sick or disabled cannot afford the exorbitant costs.Afterall the wages of the employed can be garnished and they have a salary that can pay bills, however ridiculous it might be!Welcome to America.

Does health insurance cover hair transplantation if it's for medical reasons?

An insurance company generally determines medical necessity based on whether a given procedure will either alleviate painful symptoms or correct a functional anomaly. The patient’s hair loss may be a result of an illness or injury, but unless the transplantation itself offers therapeutic treatment, it may not be covered. Some plans will cover reconstructive surgery under specific circumstances. It’s worth an inquiry to find out if coverage is available. You should provide the insurance company with detailed information from your doctor that supports the procedure’s medical necessity.

Does health insurance only cover prescription medications? Does it ever cover over-the-counter medicines?

Insurance does not cover OTC medications and rarely cover prescription vitamins. However, sometimes there is a benefit of OTC item ordered at their “prices” and list. How does health insurance work?

Your monthly premium is what you pay to maintain your coverage. However, other forms of cost-sharing do often come into play when you receive medical care. You may, for instance, have a deductible, though that deductible may not always apply to preventive medical care (meaning that many preventive medical services are basically free to you). But surgeries and the kind of care you get to diagnose or treat an illness generally will apply toward your deductible. Other forms of cost-sharing like copayments and coinsurance may also apply in some cases.

Medical care is very expensive in the United States. Health insurance works by providing you with access to discounted rates for your medical care, discounts which uninsured people don't receive, and by limiting your total out-of-pocket costs for covered medical expenses within a year. Yes, it can feel like you're not getting a lot out of your coverage when you have to pay a monthly premium and then pay a $2500 or $5000 deductible before your insurance covers a surgery. However, without insurance the same surgery and all its attendant fees and expenses could run into the tens of thousands of dollars.

Work with a licensed agent to help you find the best health insurance for your personal needs and budget. It doesn't cost anything extra to work with an agent. If you do not qualify for a government subsidy, you should also consider shopping off the government exchange, since there are other plans available that will also meet your coverage requirements under the law.

Good luck.

Why doesn't medical insurance cover dental problems?

Are you talking about insurance generally or national insurance as paid in the UK? I suppose though that doesn’t matter the fact is that Dentistry and Medicine are seen as distinctly different disciplines as are opticians. In the UK some work is covered under the NHS like complex dental surgery and work connected with jaw damage etc. Also standard dental treatment is covered but with the patient making a contribution towards treatment on a fixed scale
