What Does My Dog Have

How old does my dog have to be before I breed her?

Your dog should be at least 2 years old.
I hope you have beautiful puppies and enjoy them and bring lots of joy to those who adopt/buy them.
Bahahaha to the one that said that you have never bred a dog before and leave it to the pros? Uh ALL of the pros at one point have never bred a dog before. You have to start somewhere dummy!

What does my dog have?

I have a 5 month Pomeranian he’s a very energetic puppy runs around jumps and sleeps like usual. These past couple days he’s been really depressed looking. He doesn’t want to eat, he doesn’t want to move from where he is, he sleeps almost all day, and he hasn’t gone to the restroom. He’s thrown up about twice in 3 days. There isn’t enough money to take him to the vet at the moment but we just want to know if there’s anything we can do while we wait to take him to the vet (3 days)

Why does my dog have pink skin?

Because dogs have pink skin. As they age, the pigments can change, resulting in a paler white/grey colour. The concern here for me is the reason why you can see the skin. Are you parting your dog's coat or have patches of fur disappeared and you can clearly see its skin?If you have noticed a big difference in your dog's coat or if it has patches or new colours or discoloured areas on its skin then please consult a vet.

Does my dog have a foot fetish?

No, I don't think so.
Feet are often the only thing dogs can reach.
And they like the salt from your skin.
Licking feet is not uncommon for dogs, both mine do it occasionally

Your dog sounds very normal and loving.
A friend's dog insists on sitting on the feet of anyone his owner is talking to!

Why does my dog have cold ears?

Does the dog have short hair? My dog Bruno get very cold ears mainly in the cooler weather. I think it’s because he hardly has any hair on his chest and is a short hair dog. My other dogs, who have a hell of a lot of hair are not bothered like he is.

Why does my dog have this metallic odor?

If it's a sort of metallic, fishy smell, then it is probably anal secretions, and means that her anal glands are overfull and need to be emptied by you, a dog groomer or the vet. It's pretty easy to do, although if you are squeamish, you might want to take her to someone to do it for you! The smell is unbelievably bad when you empty them, but it's quick to do.

Here's a link to a guide as to how to do it, if you want to do it yourself.

If your dog seems off-colour as well, take her to the vet, as her glands may be infected which would probably need antibiotics to clear it.

My dog used to get this a lot, and I empty them every month when I bath him, then I can wash his bottom immediately. It's made a huge difference. Just a tip, though, I always use paper towels or something to catch the secretions and throw in the outside bin straight away.

It will also help prevent this a bit if you step up the fibre in your dog's diet. Try branflakes or something similar.

My dog has 7 nipples?

Do you realize that even people can have extra nipples that are duds? Also, the norm is usually 8-10 teats, but she'll do just fine with only 6 and there is no need to remove anything. One of my Dobermans had a litter of 12 once and I didn't even have to supplement feed any of the pups. I swear she could have fed 20. It's also not unusual to not have the teats all lined up perfect. So, unless the puppies aren't gaining weight properly or your Vet tells you that there's a problem, there isn't a problem. Relax.

Does my dog have two set of testicles?

I actually asked my vet the same question (sort of)! I had him neutered last week, and had NEVER noticed it before... one day when I was rubbing his belly (which he apparently REALLY likes!) I saw them & freaked out, calling the vet immediately! She laughed & told me they were normal, and yes, it's what swells up inside the female when they mate (so she can't get away). Nope, your dog's not a freak!

Why does my dog always have her ears back?

If your dog is normal, he or she is capable of swiveling his or her ears around to more accurately pick up noises from all directions. This is something they can barely control. The noise happens, and their ears snatch in that direction. Normal.Without much detail to go, maybe your dog isn't really hearing anything or isn’t interested (for many reasons including health and physical ability) in hearing anything.Could be a level of deathness…could be angst, confusion or depression. Some dogs suffer injury to one or both ears that results in a flopped, “lazy” area of muscle and damaged cartilage. If your dogs ears work perfectly, I can only assume, “always” having her ears back means she is nervous; taking on an obsequious manner due to trauma that's happened in the past, or may still be happening, which has likely set her demeanor to “stay low” and minimalize confrontation.I'm not a vet or dog whisperer, but I've never seen a relaxed, happy dog running around with his ears seemingly glued to his head. It's often a behavior that is accompanied by a tucked tail, crawling, and a curled back. There's also the possibility the dog is simply old and tired. A better question is, when's the last time the dog's ears were up?
