i! :-) The official and correct reason of the name is that the Young brother's sister read the letters "AC/DC" from her mother's sewing machine. AC and DC are both electrical symbols meaning "Alternating Current" and "Direct Current". And sice the band was (and still is) a band that uses electric guitars and plays loud, volumous, rock'n'roll, those symbols fitted the band very well. So when you say "really", I guess that you refer to the rumors that the letter's true meaning is "After Christ the Devil Comes", "Anti Christ / Devil's Children" etc etc etc. But I am almost certain that this is not the band's intention. Because there are almost no references to the devil or god or any religious relation in the AC/DC lyrics. Besides the song "Highway to Hell", there are no symbols used on the band members. Angus Young usually wears two horns during that song. But if you listen to the song, you can hear that there are no sympathy for the devil or anything like that in that song. The song is about living on the road watching himself falling apart. Or something like that. The same with "Hell ain't a bad place to be". Theis is about living with a person/girl that use everything you have. But you can live eith that. Because it ain't so bad after all.

A/C is alternating current.Alternating because the current spikes up and then voltage drops to none, then spikes again etc.,( very quickly so you dont know the voltage drops.) It is the description of the electrical current that comes into your home. The current is generated by the electric company, is sent to your home via a step up transformer that increases the voltage along the power lines, it goes to the transformer that feeds your house, (and so as not to destroy your electric products) the voltage recieved at that transformer is a step down transformer reducing the voltage to 110 or 220 to go into your home. You plug your appliance into the wall and you will pull in voltage(110 volts for a blow dryer, 220 for an electric dryer) for example. D/C is direct current. There is no drop in voltage, if you saw it on a graph, you would see that the voltage reaches a maximum and levels out. This is how batteries work. Batteries are used in cameras, radios, etc.CARS. That is A/C D/C explained simply as electricity. The group A/C D/C either does refer to sexuality OR I am more convinced that it refers more to (choice) of allegiance to God or Satan. Droors Clothing. They were the skate clothing company that started DC shoes in the mid-90's. They don't make clothes under the Droors name anymore and in fact are now owned by Quiksilver. It isn't anyone's initials The guys who co-founded it are named Ken Block and Damon Way (brother of Danny Way).
