What Does The Hand Gesture Dennis Miller Does When He

Why isn't there a notable right wing comedian like Bill Maher?

The question answers itself (and the answer’s as obvious as it is politically incorrect).Over the years I’ve asked scores of conservatives who’ve turned up (and complained about how liberal this site is) why they thought there wasn’t a right-leaning version of Quora. I received two responses that were closer to insults than answers. The rest didn’t bother trying. (Not because they weren’t smart enough to figure out the implications but because they didn’t want to, since the question also answered itself.)You wouldn’t ask why it doesn’t snow in Key West because it’s understood that a key ingredient for snow (freezing temperatures) is lacking. With humor, the key ingredient is a form of creative intelligence that’s in short supply on the right. I’m not talking about Hee-Haw silly or slapstick hijinks or the I.Q. purportedly measured by standardized testing. And I’m not suggesting everyone on the right is intellectually challenged (because I don’t believe that to be true). If the right could make a similar case that implied the slightest superiority over the left based on humor, FOX would be reporting on it non stop. They don’t because they can’t. And liberals don’t harp on the implications because they’re liberals. To put it another way, humor has a liberal bias.

Who are the greatest stand up comedians of all times?

That is a tough question, because there are so many good ones. But it is even tougher to judge this question because of the changing nature of comedy. Some of the greats, who really changed the comedy landscape, just don’t hold up anymore. When Eddie Murphy’s “Delirious” came out, it was just about universally acclaimed. It made everybody hurt with laughter. Eddie was surely one of the great geniuses of comedy. When Andrew Dice Clay became popular, he was also a big deal. But nobody today cares to look at either of them. They were just too politically incorrect for today’s sensibilities. But even when you put aside controversial, “incorrect” comedy, the old comedy other great comedians also doesn’t hold up so well. Consider George Carlin, for example. I remember he was quite the rage in the 70s. He was intelligent, clever, witty, bizzarre and absurd. He talked about meaningful things and was funny at the same time. He was interesting because he was weird and he was a genius. If you watch his old stuff now, he looks pretty tame.I think this holds true for all the greats of the past. They all made a big impact at the time, because they were fresh and were speaking to that particular time. That being said, you can make your own choice of who was the best or who is your favorite. Chances are, 10 years from now, you will be less impressed. As for me, I still love Sam Kinnison, though I feel he is wearing on the edges.

Does Billy Batson age at the same rate as normal humans, and when he transforms into SHAZAM, will he always appear to be the same age, even if he is much older?

Billy Batson the boy, is human. A human imbued with the ability to transform into a superpowered hero whenever he utters a certain magic word, but a human nonetheless. He eats, sleeps, poops, has feelings and ages just as normally and as much as the next human… because, well.. he is one. Now, Shazam on the other hand, is an extremely powerful being whom Billy transforms into whenever he utters the above said magic word ‘SHAZAM’. Now I'm not an expert in comics or anything like that, but I am convinced that the superhero Shazam is for all intents and purposes, virtually immortal. I know that he is regularly regarded as “Earth's mightiest mortal”, with mortal being the keyword here, but I believe that the word ‘mortal’ in this scenario simply means that he can be killed (though I think it would take an immense amount of effort and punishment to achieve said goal, but theoretically, I believe that it's possible and there are certainly some comic characters that can achieve this, if only but a few), and not that he can die due to the effects of natural aging. I believe that the superpowered form of any chosen human, with Shazam being Billy Batson's, takes on the looks and physique of said chosen human at their prime, regardless of whether that human grows up to achieve that exact physical state or not(he or she could end up morbidly obese or become a drug addict for all we know, though I think that would be highly unlikely… Hey, wisdom of Solomon) or them aging past the prime years. Doesn't matter, Superform equals prime age and physique. Now, the question becomes, “if Shazam is really immortal, why not remain in this form at all times so as to live forever?” Well, I cannot answer that question. To each his own, I guess. Though I think this exact question was answered by a certain Shazam/Superman DC animated movie where the villain, Black Adam had just returned from a 5000 year exile imposed on him by the wizard Shazam (I know, it's a little crazy with all the Shazams…), and after travelling all this time through the great vacuum of space, gets up to the whole villainy shenanigans, and after his eventual defeat by the hands of our heroes, rather than face another exile (10,000 years this time around), decides to end his own life, by reverting back to his human form and rapidly undergoing the long awaited and long held back effects of time.

Do any animals besides humans understand the concept of pointing to an object that is far away or will they all notice your finger instead?

My dogs do. I have two dogs, and they hear things such as the mail carrier as soon as she sets foot on the driveway. Yes, I know, that is an example of their alertness. However, the three of us will be lounging on my recliner, watching TV. If I suddenly jerk my head in a certain direction, the dogs will immediately perk up and look in that same direction, and start to growl. It is kind of funny because they look where I am looking, then look at me, then back again because they cannot figure out what I hear or see that they don’t. After a few seconds they will jump off the recliner and investigate, still wondering what it is that I heard or saw. When outside, all I have to do is point and say squirrel! and they will charge off in the direction I point.Obviously, this is anecdotal evidence, but if you have dogs you might want to play this game with them, to see if their reaction is similar to what I have described.

Does anybody know about Johnny Carson?

sounds familiar.
was he like..a president?

Why do celebrities tend to associate themselves with the Democratic party?

Your question is based on a faulty premise. Yes, there are celebrities who are Democrats. On the other hand, the Republicans have elected two celebrities to the presidency, and have their own celebrity following (e.g James Woods, Roseanne Barr and the entire cast of FOX News and FOX & Friends) as well. Now, if you’re asking why so many professional actors are Democrats, I think it’s probably because actors are skilled at empathy—-putting themselves in the place of a character. And they have to do this convincingly, even if they have never faced challenges similar to those their character faces.Democrats are called on to do this, too. I was born right here in the U.S.; yet I’m called on to learn about and understand some of the challenges facing immigrants to this country. I’ve never lived in poverty, and I have a good education; yet as a Democrat I need to understand that, just because I have a good job, it doesn’t mean that everyone out there who’s willing to work hard can get one. I’m white; yet I’m called on to understand that nonwhite people often have to struggle with injustices that I’ve never faced. And, finally, I’m called on to accept that, if I want to live in a first rate society, I must do my part (including paying taxes) to keep it that way.If I didn’t choose to be empathetic, I wouldn’t get along well with the Democratic party. But in such a case I’d fit right in with the Republicans, who would give me the excuse that people who are struggling just made poor choices, and therefore don’t deserve any help, and that it’s patriotic to balk at investing in the country that I claim is the greatest in the world.Republicans are required to act at times, too, but I seldom find their acts very convincing:
