No, no catfights for you. :o) It means basically when a woman says something mean to another woman, such as, "Your dress is lovely. Too bad it's SO last season." or "Your hair looks .....well, here's the name of MY stylist. Jose will fix it." They're like veiled insults. Just watch old episodes of "Dynasty" and you'll get the general idea.
Why are nurses so catty and mean with each other?
It appears as though most “cattiness” appears when one nurse is trying to make the other nurse look bad. Why would anyone be so immature?Floor nurses who take promotions are often the victim of cattiness because there is bound to be atleast one nurse without enough insight to understand why said nurse was picked instead of him/herself.Disagreements over who gets the annoying patient, and staffing assignments in general. Someone gets the final say, and atleast one nurse is bound to think the decision is dumb.Some nurses require more help than others to do their job. No one wants to do their job plus someone else's.Some nurses feel they are above the law when it comes to unit protocols and procedures. Therefore, when a fellow nurse reminds them of how things should be done, he/she is offended.The list goes on and on but boils down to the fact that nurses are generally independant and sometimes are annoyed by having to deal with each other, protocols that tell them what to do, annoying clueless beurocracy, politics and staffing issues, and the like.

Why are some gay men catty?
My opinion? Because we are all really broken and lost people. Even if you have the most tolerant and accepting family in the world - you were not what was planned for or expected. You are growing up in a world where you are a minority, and not a minority that can be integrated like skin color. It unfortunately shows up in some gay men being very mean to other gay men because they are insecure. I also think that we are paranoid about others talking badly (because we talk badly ourselves, so others must be) and when you dominate the conversation you know the you’re not being talked about.Also maybe we feel like it’s what’s expected of the cool gays? Not sure. But it’s becoming less and less PC in the gay community to be hateful towards more effeminate gay men, like the whole “I’m gay but i’m not a FLAMER like them” syndrome is dying out.
Why are women so rude and catty.?
A lot of women feel like they have to be equal to another woman in order not to cause strife. Still, more women, when they meet another woman, feel like they have to be in competition about SOMETHING about her: weight, hair, clothes, makeup, boyfriends, etc. It's silly, but it's so true. Personally, I don't care enough about you to dislike you after 30 seconds. I mean...?? Really now.
