What Ever Happened To Lil Rockin

Who sang and performed the 80's rockin version of "My Little Runaway"?

Runaway by Bon Jovi

How does everything work in Rockin' 1000? What purpose do the headphones every guitar player wears have?

I just performed at a Rockin 1000 event in New York City as a vocalist. The headphones will have a guide track that everyone is listening to. This makes sure that everyone is in time. There will also be vocal cues in your headphones to indicate that a certain section is coming up.Prior to the concert, sheet music and tutorials are sent to each musician. There will be an MP3 with the parts plucked out, and a video of the music guru playing the parts. The person in the video is most often your instrument group’s musical director.Prior to the full band performance, each section will group off and rehearse. We had individual rehearsals for voice, guitar, bass, drums, strings and keyboard. After the individual rehearsals, the whole group will come together to play the song. The headphones are key to make sure everyone is on the same page and not playing too fluidly. Because there are so many musicians, it's important that each section is very synchronized. Each instrument will have their musical drector on site for the performance, but there will also be a main musical director conducting. The amount of planning that goes into a Rockin 1000 event is intense and detailed. I would recommend the Rockin 1000 experience to anyone who gets a chance. The bonds that are formed after playing with that many people are pretty intense as well.

What was the first rock song ever made?

Well, Fred Flintstone did sing a catchy little version of “Listen to the Rockin’ Bird” circa the Stone Age but that’s probably not what you’re looking for!DJ Alan Freed is credited with coining the term “Rock and Roll” but pinning down any single song as THE song that started it all would be difficult. Some of the contenders are1. “That’s All Right, Mama” – Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup (1946)2. “Good Rockin’ Tonight” – Wynonie Harris (1948)3. “Rock This Joint” – Jimmy Preston and his Prestonians (1949)4. “Saturday Night Fish Fry” – Louis Jordan & The Tympany Five (1949), and/or5. “Rocket 88” - Jackie Brenston and his Delta Cats - Ike Turner(1951)Rock is the “Big Bang” that occured when blues, country and Tin Pan Alley pop collided with gospel, jazz, boogie woogie and rhythm and blues and exploded with intense spirit and a wicked backbeat. Then came Chuck Berry to put the pieces together and give the music attitude and intuitive choreography -- there was no turning back!

All the little birds on jay bird street

Bobby Day
Rockin' Robin lyrics

Why do I rock back and forth? Ever since I could sit up, I've been rocking back and forth. I usually do it in the car when I'm riding as a passenger, but sometimes I do it without noticing. I don't know why I do this. I'm 17 years old.

One of the Psychological reasons for why someone would rock like you described is exactly that, to let out tension and many people do it and never think about it. That satisfying  rocking sensation stems from you being held as a child and your mother rocking you to sleep or for comfort if you injured yourself or what ever the reason is for your being comforted.  It is like when you see a cat or kitty purring on something soft and they use their paws to squish the softness in between their toes/fingers.  What they are doing is an act of self-reassurance and self-comforting in remembrance of when they were nursing from their mother and the motion of moving their paws as to draw-out more milk. Actually, as humans, we do a bunch of actions from our childhood that we are not aware of, to comfort ourselves during times of great stress, frustration or sadness. Who ever said anything about Autism clearly is mistaken and does not know the difference in behavior, even though the actions are similar, the origins are completely different in nature. What you do is only something you might want to control if you are doing it in front of persons that would normally not see you rocking.  Some might mis-interpret it like that one person did with the comment regarding Autism. Other than that, it is a harmless method of self-soothing that if effective, do it!Hope this helped. If you have more to ask me, feel free. Take care, till thenPeace...

How can you tell if your rocking chair is an antique?

There are many ways to get an idea of the age of a piece of furniture. The materials, craftsmanship and “technology” can give many hints, as can the style. The easiest way is to look for signs that it is a modern chair, and if none of the “red flags” of modern construction come up, it is most likely an antique. One clue comes from the hardware. If your chair is assembled with screws, or nuts and bolts, it’s most likely less than 100 years old. Modern fasteners, (such as hex nuts or philips screws) would date the piece as even more recent, less than 75 years old. True antique furniture (often meaning it is at least 100 years old) was generally glued together or force fitted with the use of carefully designed wooden joints and pegs.Another clue to age is workmanship. The lathe, a machine used to produce rounded wood and metal pieces, has existed for many years, so both old and new chairs could have smooth, consistently shaped major pieces, like the legs and the struts in the back of the chair. The ornamentation, though, tends to be done more by hand on older chairs, so on close examination, you’ll see subtle differences from one bit of ornamentation to another, or even the occasional chisel mark from a craftsman. Finally, if the chair is marked on the underside, it is generally not very old. There are exceptions, but labeling is a modern convention. With the introduction of global trade laws, it became necessary to mark the country of origin. Items marked “Made in” such as “Made in England” are generally made after 1908 or so. Other consumer protection laws, which are very recent, required items to be marked as to materials. You haven’t furnished a picture, which would also help me estimate its age. You could do a search on the web on “Antique rocking chair” and look through Google images to try to find similar chairs. You can also ask an appraiser to look at the chair, either in person or via email.

Why is Rockin' Robin considered a Christmas song?

Here in America, we dont concider it a Christmas song.

Since certain birds are associated with Christmas, maybe that's why.
