Liberalism? Conservative? What do these really mean?

Liberal comes from the word Liberty, because Liberals love liberty, the opposite of what conservatives want.

Liberals started America, they rebeled against the far right wing conservative British with their high taxes and excessive government, and won.

Conservatives say they want smaller government and lower taxes to get elected, they always increase government control over our private lives and and always increase taxes. The current conservative adminstration proves this, as they have increased government bureaucracy and spent more than all other previous administrations combined.

Famous Liberals:
Abraham Lincoln
Dwight D. Eisonhower
John F. Kennedy
George W. Bush
George Washington

Famous Conservatives:
Richard M. Nixon
Timothy McVeigh
David Koresh
Osama bin Laden
Saddam Hussein and his Republican Guard.

George W. Bush is the most honest, and most liberal president since Clinton.

All islamic wackos like bin Laden and Saddam are radical conservatives. Even conservatives admit that.

Timothy McVeigh was a wacko conservative.

Richard M. Nixon was a radical conservative. He had 95% of all Americans on his enemies list.

David Koresh was wacko conservative also. Religious wackos are almost always conservatives.

European politics, philosophy, science and communications were radically reoriented during the course of the “long 18th century” (1685-1815) as part of a movement referred to by its participants as the Age of Reason, or simply the Enlightenment. Enlightenment thinkers in Britain, in France and throughout Europe questioned traditional authority and embraced the notion that humanity could be improved through rational change. The American and French Revolutions were directly inspired by Enlightenment ideals and respectively marked the peak of its influence and the beginning of its decline. The French Revolution was motivated and shaped by these ideas. Three well known revolutionary ideas were encapsulated in the revolutionary slogan “Liberty! Equality! Fraternity!”. The ideology of the French Revolution was broader and more complex than mere slogans, however. The social structure of the Ancien Régime was uneven and unfair, particularly with regard to taxation. The citizens of the Third Estate wanted equality, though some wanted greater levels of equality than others. The rising bourgeoisie wanted political and social equality with the nobility of the Second Estate. They favoured a meritocracy: a society where rank and status were defined by ability and achievement, rather than birthright and privilege. But the bourgeoisie were more reluctant about sharing political equality with the lower ranks of the Third Estate. They did not support universal voting rights, believing voting to be a privilege of the propertied classes. The French Revolution of 1789 was the culmination of the High Enlightenment vision of throwing out the old authorities to remake society along rational lines, but it devolved into bloody terror that showed the limits of its own ideas and led, a decade later, to the rise of Napoleon. Still, its goal of egalitarianism attracted the admiration of the early feminist Mary Wollstonecraft and inspired both the Haitian war of independence and the radical racial inclusivism of Paraguay’s first post-independence government.
