What Foods To Eat When I

What are the best foods to eat when studying?

Best foods when studying are those which release glucose (or energy) gradually and, hence, preempt fatigue and drowsiness. To understand this better, let’s first understand what’s Glycemic Index (GI).GI is a measure of how quickly a food releases glucose in the bloodstream. Foods that break down quickly during digestion and release glucose rapidly have high GI, whereas foods which release glucose gradually tend to have low GI.The graph below tentatively describes how glucose level fluctuates in your blood for low and high GI foods:(Click on the image to see enlarged view)Takeaway # 1: Because high-GI foods lead to rapid release and equally rapid fall in your energy levels, you’ll fatigue and lose focus earlier than when you take low-GI foods. So, have healthy mix of low and high GI foods, and not just high GI foods, which is the common tendencyTakeaway # 2: No matter what type of food you take – high or low GI, your energy level will start dipping after 2-3 hours. So, replenish every 2-3 hours, small portions of course.Learn more about the topic and how to develop the habit of having low-GI food here:What to Eat When Studying for Better Focus and Energy? Some of the examples of low-GI food (the ones you should’ve in your diet)These are also typically the healthier options.Wholegrain sandwichesOatsPorridgeLow-sugar museliLow-sugar energy barsYogurt with seeds/ nutsEgg with wholegrain breadLow-fat dairySoupsSaladsMost fruitsHowever, it’s not to say that you completely avoid high-GI foods. You should aim for including at least some low-GI food in your diet.Few other things you can doKeep yourself hydrated (2-3 liters a day): keep a bottle with you, and take regular sips. That’s the best way I know to avoid forgetting drinking waterInclude protein in your diet to curb frequent hunger pangs, as protein is more filling and takes longer to digest. In any case, you should have protein in your diet for a healthy balance

What kind of food should you be eating when you are depressed?

Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity or apathy that can affect a person's thoughts, behavior, feelings and sense of well-being. [1]Now I’ll let you know that I’ve never faced any severe form of depression, be it the clinical kind, trauma-induced or triggered by any significant life events. So I can’t offer any personal advice, and it might be a good idea to look at the other answers if that’s what you’re here for. However, I do know how to Google. Here’s what I found and put together in the last 10 minutes:Food with a lot of Vitamin B (folic acid and B-12 and all that good stuff, read more about it here [2] )Like chickenAnother reason to love these birds ^ [3]Leafy Greens[4]and beans, and citrus fruits and eggs. All that food looks pretty enticing and perhaps not too hard to chow down on while you sob on your platter, at least to me. The real challenge is the food you’re meant to avoid.Stay away from your sugar and refined carbs. Keyword: refined. In simple terms, foods rich in sugar and refined carbs are everything you can think of eating when you’re feeling like you’d much rather prefer to spend the night drowning yourself physically or emotionally in the the thick of your dread. So that means no ice cream, cookies, cake, muffins, pancakes, waffles, pies, pastries, candy etc. and the list goes on. You’ll find it here[5].Going off on a tangent here, another kind of food you may consume to battle your sense of depression is:Brain FoodReliving your past experiences the 100th time and applying your lowly filter to everything you see is exactly the kind of stuff your brain needs to not do in order to survive and keep you feeling fit and relatively upbeat about life.Live life like a caveman.Hunt and Gather new resources and skills to boost your competency in the real world.Pick up a productive hobby, or heck just repeat mundane tasks (video-games, knitting, jogging every Tuesday and blablabla) that provide sensory stimulation and take your mind off whatever is eating you up from the inside. You could straight-up just go hunting too like a real caveman. You could be feeling depressed for numerous reasons, sometimes it could be an inherited syndrome too. But the key is to make the most out of yourself. Put yourself first.Footnotes[1] Depression (mood) - Wikipedia[2] Self-Help Tips to Deal with and Overcome Depression[3] Redirect Notice[4] Redirect Notice[5] Refined carbohydrate list - Diagnosis:Diet

What foods to eat with braces????

You will probably be in some pain for the first few days, so stick to softer foods for that.

After that, it's not what you CAN eat - it's what you CAN'T. Things like apples (eaten whole) or corn on the cob will be difficult and will require immediate brushing to get the crap out of your braces. Do not ever eat sticky candy like taffy or caramels, because they can pull your wires or brackets.

Good luck!

What foods can you eat with spacers in your mouth?

You can eat anything soft that will not put much pressure on your teeth when you chew it. When my braces are tightened I eat bananas and drink protein/breakfast shakes to help with the hunger. When the pain is less, you can eat foods that don't need to be chewed much.

Try to eat on the left side of your mouth, but after your teeth don't hurt, switch back to your right side so your teeth become even and one side isn't sharper than the other.

Sugary food occasionally is fine, and it hasn't really affected MY braces, but try to stay away gum. It can loosen your spacers, and later on, braces. You will have to get used to the feeling of braces and getting food stuck in your teeth occasionally. I still eat chips, sometimes gummy candy, and I just had some cotton candy at a festival recently.

Ice cream, pudding (lol), cookies, etc are all fine, just not excessively. You should be able to judge on what you can and can't eat.
