What is Flume like in concert?

How do I stop all the heat escaping up the chimney flume, no heat is been given out to the room?
What you are experiencing is the classic issue with open fireplaces. By design open fireplaces are not efficient at casting forward the heat that is generated in the fire box. The "something that you can pull across over the flue" item you are describing is a damper. The damper is actually designed to only close off the chimney after you are done burning to prevent your inside air from escaping. It is not designed to keep heat in during the burn. It is dangerous to use a damper to keep the heat in since it will also keep the smoke and fumes in as well. So if you are looking for a way to stop heat escape while you are not using the fireplace i would recommend you plug the flue with a chimney balloon. I have found the clear ones to be the most durable. if you are looking for a way to get more heat from the wood burning in the fireplace I would go with a good quality insert for the fireplace. An insert will actually collect the wood heat and cast it forward with a blower. Napoleon and Jotul are good units, but there are other good brands too.
Can we be a music producer if we didn't play any instruments?
This was actually common enough back in the day when producers role was a bit different. They would help pick songs, pair them wit the right singer and work closely with an arranger who would have the real musical know-how. The producer would oversee the session and decide when the arrangement and takes were good. Today, most producers are much more deeply involved in the creative process from the beginning and the ability to play and “speak” music with the artist is absolutely necessary. You might not need to be a hot shot soloist but you need a firm grasp of the fundemantals
