What Good College Degrees Don

What are some good jobs for people without college degrees?

That’s a topic that will never run dry. Let me ask you another question though. What is the best job for someone who does have a college degree? The answer is the same for both questions - there is no ‘best’ job. Actually, in most cases, you can end up doing the same job as someone with a degree. Of course, we aren’t talking about doctors, lawyers, natural sciences professionals, and other professions that require years of serious dedication in order to master that particular skill set.Everything else, including software development, design, project management, writing, photographing, business development, and like 90% of other jobs, require ONLY your willingness to continually invest in your knowledge and persistence to push forward no matter what. College degree in those cases doesn’t really mean anything if you can’t back it up with your knowledge.I helped hundreds of professionals move up on a career ladder, and there were plenty of those in executive level roles that dropped out of college simply due to opportunity cost.Reason? They were moving more quickly in building their knowledge and skill sets on their own than they were receiving from college programs. We live in a gig economy these days, and most people are having a hard time realizing that fact. Universities are still preparing their students for full-time jobs when they graduate, and since it’s only natural to trust that kind of authority, students are unknowingly becoming prepared to live in a society that is ceasing to exist. Once their college days end, so it will their comfort zone.Unlike those students, you can adapt to the situation more quickly and start working in line with latest industry trends. There’s a plethora of free courses on Coursera, edX and other similar platforms. At least in the 21th century, the knowledge is truly free and available to anyone, so there are no excuses not to learn and grow in whatever you love doing.Don’t be afraid to pursue your goals, and don’t let anyone put you down only because you chose a different road for yourself. I did it as well, and I have no regrets whatsoever.

Jobs without college degrees?

Have you tried varying the college? Or just stuck at one? Sometimes the college we choose aren't actually our best fits at all and turn out awful for our personalities and skills. I know very intelligent people who also struggled at first with college, you're definitely not alone in this! Maybe you need a smaller environment, more 1 to 1 teaching, with classes that have smaller groups? Have you tried a different college and also didn't do well?

I'll tell you, I was valedictorian of my high school, my teachers considered me extremely intelligent, as did other people who interacted with me. But when I went to college, I flunked out the first semester too. I was devastated but I realize that all things happen for very positive reasons. And I realized that that particular college's environment just didn't mesh with me very well. My mom and dad thought I was crazy, made me go back again this summer, and my mom realized the same thing. It was the college, not me! So I'm going to a new college this fall and I'm head over heels about it!

If you've tried varying colleges and you think that you're not still doing well, have you tried at least getting your associates degree at a community college? Communtiy college is very do-able most of the time, very low-key, and you can get your RN and make at least 50,000 a year!

There must be some particular reason why you're not succeeding. You seem like a very intelligent person so I'm sure it's just something that isn't meshing very well with your nature that needs to be taken care of. Think about why perhaps you're not succeeding - is it your teachers? Are they miserable and do not like to help? Is it your peers? The material? Study habits? Environment (quiet, loud, etc)? These things can be changed! I think if you don't want to struggle in the future and be able to live well off on your own, you should still consider college, especially with this economy downslide. Just think about perhaps why you're not suceeding and we or a counselor can hopefully try to fix it to get you your college degree! :)

What is life like without a college degree?

Life is what you make it.Don't have to have a college degree to live life? If you don't want to go to school right out of high school that's fine, if you don't wanna go back until you're 25 that's whatever, if you don't go back at all well cool. I hate the parents who put the pressure on their kids to decide instantly what they want to go to school for and shove university down their throat. My parents were never like that and I went back and got whatever I wanted to take. Half of the percentage of people who go to university right after highschool usually end up dropping out, failing the course, or feel like they've failed their parents because they didn't make it.My nephew is a prime example on doing things on his own terms and own pace. He's 3 and you cannot tell him what todo or how todo it. He needs todo it on his own terms & I really don't blame him because I'm the exact same way. (Stubborn) When a person is ready todo something, they'll do it. Don't pressure them because all you're going todo is stress yourself out for trying to get them todo something, and you'll stress the person you're pushing making this discouraged. In all, you don't need a degree to live life. Sure you'll make more money and I think it's great when people get their post secondary education. But I also think it's great if people like their jobs they do to earn a living without having post secondary. It’s your life so you choose what you want todo. Don't let others pressure you into anything you don't want to.

Jobs that don't require a college degree?

Any jobs or suggestions?

High paying jobs that don't require college degrees?

I am really dreading college, I hate school and no I'm not some punk rebel, I just realize what a waste of time and money it is, pay an assload of money to be educated to be a more productive slave to the government, just seems like an empty pointless life to me.
