Can I sue the petitioner of a TRO for economic damages which she caused in small claims court?

My domestic partner girlfriend successfully received a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against me (in CA). I was mandated, by the court order, to stay away from our home. At the hearing (to grant a permanent order), 7 weeks later, the court found the petitioner's claims to be unsubstantiated. The permanent order was denied and the TRO dismissed. Between being served with the TRO and the hearing, I continued to pay my share of the rent ($1500/ mo), as I was still on the lease. Along with that, I paid rent where I was staying during that time ($750/ mo), along with various expenses for necessities (bed/ desk/ etc.). I also hired legal counsel to represent me at the hearing ($2000). While I know the you can file a small claims suit for just about "anything", what do you feel my chances of recovering any/ all of my economic losses (~$7000) due to her actions? Is it worth my time and effort to pursue? Is there precedence/ case law that I can refer too (in either case)? Thank you, in advance, for you advice.

No insurance accident. Can't afford to pay damages. What are my options?

You don’t indicate a number of facts which are important in providing an answer. Were you deemed to be at fault for the accident? If so (and depending upon the U.S. state) you may be required to pay for damages (and injuries if any) to other partyAre the damages to your vehicle severe enough that it is undriveable? If so, public transportation for you.The other driver may have coverage called uninsured motorist for your actions, which if you were at fault means that his/her insurance will take care of the damages/injuries for their customer. However, in the event that the other insurance company pays their client, they are going to want to get their money back. From YOU.Depending upon the state, you may also have issues with the DOT, and they may revoke your license and require you to file proof of insurance before you get it back. And oh yeah, when you look for insurance now, it’s going to cost an arm and a leg. Insurance companies don’t like irresponsible people.Good Luck, and thanks for the A2A.

What happens if you get in an accident and your insurance relapsed?!?

If you had an accident with no insurance coverage, you will have to pay damages out of your pocket. Once you do you will be okay because you have taken financial responsibility for your damage.

However, depending on where you are, you may get a ticket for driving without insurance. Usually though if the police are at the scene of an accident they will write any tickets right then, so if they didn't you probably don't have to worry about that.

Worse case, and hopefully it won't happen, if you are at fault and the person damaged discovers you aren't covered, they can suddenly develop serious whip lash and try to hit you for medical expenses. If that happens hopefully your police report will save you.

Sorry it happened.

What would happen if you crashed your car without any insurance?

Well, you would have to pay for the damages out of pocket for one. Depending on the state you live in, you would lose your license for a period of time determined by the court if it is reported to the police. When you do get your license back you will have to get what’s called an “SR-22” bond for your insurance. This ensures you have insurance at all times, if you lapse, it will be reported to the BMV and your license will be suspended again. The “SR-22” bond has a set time you must have it which is determined by the court, usually a couple of years. It also raises your insurance to have the bond, it does cost. Not exactly sure on the cost though.
