What are some good jobs for hippies?

My female friend is a little hippie girl and she is wonderful! She has dread locks, and I was just wondering what types of jobs can she get with this look. She really wants to get a decent job, but is not sure her employer will want someone who is a hippie. She showers and bathes, and is very clean, but she loves the freestyle clothes and beads. What advice can you give to me to give to her, because she's a bit anti-computer!!!!!

How would you define a good job?

I personally think that a good job has these elements:Stability. A good job is stable and I am secure in it. It is financially stable enough to pay my bills and I'm not afraid of losing my job due to cuts or company setbacks.Strong morale. I have coworkers that I like to be around and we have a strong sense of being a team. We like what we do and we're good at it. We don't have to be friends, but I want a positive environment where it's easy to work with the people around me.Rewarding work. Above all, a good job in my mind has to have some kind of reward to it. I personally want to do work that makes a difference. I am happiest when I feel that I am able to help people and provide a service that is needed. If my job doesn't have that, I lose my sense of purpose.

What is a good paying job for an 18 year old girl?

my girlfriend wants a good paying job now that shes out of highschool and going to college however she cant think of one. Ones that could pay 9-10 dollars an hour or more would be great.

Can I still get a good job if I have bad grades in high school?

Yes! Nothing is impossible when it comes to building a life for yourself. I have a best friend who struggled in high school. She wasn't lazy or a slacker like most low B/C-average students: it was simply due to her brainpower. She constantly put effort into everything she did, yet it wasn't enough. She then realized that she just wasn't academically-sound. So, I helped her excel. I didn't force her to go above her current capabilities every time she tackled her homework: I taught her how to integrate what she already knows into her answers. I taught her how to write opinions well, analyze ideas and draw conclusions, etc.She kept working hard, and she graduated with a Visual Arts scholarship worth $2500 For Students Entering Art School. Her passion was art (she's still INSANELY superb at it). Two years after high school and she now intends to enroll in community college to pursue a Health career. Bottom line: what interests you? What career paths can utilize your skills/interests/talents? Go back to school if you want! Get a job! Work your way up the ladder and take your time. It's about connecting all the resources available to you and making them work to your advantage.

What is a good job for a college student?

Student worker positions with your local county. I live in Los Angeles County and I was a student professional worker at a courthouse for two years. They were very flexible with my schedule.
After my time ended there, I applied for a position with a different county agency. I'm still waiting on a response. I don't know where you live but I would check your county's website to see if they have Student worker positions for students. It's an excellent job to have. Great references, great pay and it's fun office work.

What are some good jobs (not her daily chores she should do anyway) for a 14 year old girl do at home to earn money for an expensive pair of shoes or other "extra" shopping?

Here's what im hoping to do with this question. this is my daughter, obviously… She doesn't get money for doing things that are required of everyone just because they are alive. I dont intend to pay my girls to clean up after themselves or to help out around the house with things that need to be done for everyone's benefit. That sends a weird message and i think it could backfire on me later…….. If I can't afford to pay my daughter but I need help with laundry…. She is expected to help me. So I just never opened that door. I'm not paying her not to be a slob nor to be a helpful effective and efficient individual.I was thinking something that's actually work and will feel like a job when she's doing it. A job she can look back at and see the money and the job well done and FEEL it. Definitely Work she otherwise wouldnt be doing…. I am looking for a job I might actually need or want done that will be worth the money she earns. Im really hoping to teach her how the value of money works… you do a certain job a certain way and you get paid for it accordingly. 60$ for shoes is what she wants (in addition to the school clothes she's getting already Anyways) . Thats a full 8 hour work day for someone who works for minimum wage. I dont want her to work for 8 hours like an employee but i want it to seem comparable to a 14 year old girl…. Because I think its an important thing for her to understand. A full work day is A lot of energy …no matter the dollar amount. If she works 20 hours a week when she gets her first part time job, 60 bucks is gonna be nearly have her weekly earnings. I wish I had understood that at her age. But instead it hit me like a brick when my lifestyle wasnt sustainable after I left home at 18.

How do you know if you've done a good job bringing up your children?

The"knowing" is always going to be in your mind.  Regardless of what your children become, or how many times they thank you.  In my opinion, it is your own perception.  If you do all you can, you may still fail in some areas of parenting.  The effort will show as long as you are satisfied with the effort you have put forth.  As a single parent, when my oldest son was selected to attend one of the 5 military academies in the US, people always said to me.."you must be so proud of the job you did raising him!"  I never knew exactly how to respond.  I didnt want to sound as if I didnt appreciate the compliment, but I also did not feel "proud" of myself.  I was proud of my sons ability to fly alone! and make it happen.
