So there was this girl who never played any game and I MEAN NEVERRRRR but she really wanted to explore all options ,she started playing ,learning and ENJOYING :) tell you she was not so good in start but now she plays many games like volleyball, football, squash, basketball and she is so good at it now and participated in many events .So what i wanted to tell you is this you can start by any game you like or try every game and then DECIDE. It really does not matter whether you played or not what matters is that what you want to do.AND PLAYING IS GOOD FOR HEALTH TO SO WHY NOT..:) IT WONT HARM YOU…::PAnd for my college people that girl is AFRIN CHAKURE ..:)

Is 14 too old to start a new sport?

I'm a 14 year old girl and I play tennis a lot and it takes up heaps of my time, because I have to dedicate heaps to practise and tournaments. I'm thinking of cutting back on the tennis and taking up a new sport, but I'm not sure which one, and I was wondering if 14 is too old to start?
Any suggestions for good sports I could do? I was thinking a team sport because tennis isn't that great for meeting people - I only do private lessons, and there are only 5 other people on my squad.
I used to do State Swimming when I was 8 - 11 but then I quit because of tennis.
I'm naturally athletic and I always pick up sports pretty quickly. I was on the school team for athletics, netball, soccer and hockey, but I wasn't that drawn to any of them. Netball was probably the most fun.
But basically I'm looking for a really fun sport that I can play competitively and it isn't too late to join up for since I'm 14!
Please Help!!

Beginner Sports 14 year old Girl?

It is hard to starts sports late, I know from experience. I tried just about every sport in the book, and when I was 13, I decided to try gymnastics. Although it takes a lot of effort and hard work to catch up, you can probably do it. You would be on a different track than the people who started when they were 3, who are probably on the ultra-competitive USAG. Even if you took weekly classes, I bet you would have a blast!

I looked around some websites to try to find things to help you and the only tip I can really give you is to practice. Do not let anyone get into your head or second guess yourself. If you want to do gymnastics, be aggressive and DO NOT give up. Keep stretching and if you have a trampoline practice the basics like front and back handsprings, your jumps, and possibly front and back tucks. I hope you find these links useful, they could help give you some background information just to help you grasp a better understanding.

Hope this helped, and remember that you are starting later than other people, but do not let that hold you back. GYMNASTICS IS TONS OF FUN!

Can a 14 year old girl start doing martial arts?

14 is a very good age to start, the youngest i start them is 5. but at young ages the attraction span is not always there.
and you are never too old my oldest student started when he was over 60.

you need to find a good teacher this is far more important then the school. take some trial class and get a feel for it.
there is no ultimate style they all have pro's and con's

don't worry about any mistakes you make, every body makes the same ones and it makes our job a lot easier we already know what to expect from you and how to fix it.

best of luck

Is 14 too old to start playing sports?

I'm a fourteen-year-old girl and I'm interested in learning how to play a sport (especially field hockey), but I'm worried I'm too old. The closest thing to sports I've ever come is PhysEd, and although I'm pretty athletic, I've never done team sports. Do you think I'm way too old?
